The racing season and other specific social events related to horses are in full flow and you should know what to wear for such an occasion. Work on your outfit and give it some flair to make you stand out at the racecourse. Use our article as inspiration and show your outfit off at the Prague Polo Cup, which will be held on 8 September at Levín Farm by Benešov.
Be aware that you need to look absolutely perfect and meet the strict dress code exactly when you visit the races or a polo match. This is not a wedding or party and you can forget about pretentious long dresses and also about inappropriate short skirts, which are simply not suited to such an event.
The basic rule is that practical shoes are the best choice. Shoes with wedge heels for instance, which will keep you steady and will go beautifully with your elegant deluxe outfit. What about deluxe espadrilles on a wedge heel? You can find some at Valentino and you certainly won’t be ashamed to wear them. Of course, you can’t go wrong if you insist on pumps or high-heeled sandals, you simply won’t feel as comfortable.
When you say “races” or “polo”, everyone imagines horses and impeccably dressed women, who look perfect from head to toe. Or at least they should. So, as well as the aforementioned shoes, you should focus on interesting, original and unique hats, fascinators and other accessories. But you must remember one thing: your accessories should not be enormous, ostentatious or overblown, because the truth is, less is more.
If you want to be modern and trendy choose something in a timeless polka dot pattern, like the dress Julia Roberts wore to a polo match in the film Pretty Woman for example. The ideal colour combination is black and white, but you can naturally try a different combination of colours. Other patterns are also welcome. Those of you who would rather wear trousers can wear a comfortable elegant jumpsuit or high-waisted trousers, which look great.
Like women, men should also wear deluxe clothing appropriate to the races or a polo match. Don’t be afraid of colours, such as deluxe grey, blue, black or beige, because you will look irresistible in them. But you don’t have to overdo the elegance too much, try for a more casual look without a tie or bow tie. A shirt, trousers and jacket or sweater are more than enough.
So we look forward to seeing you at the Prague Polo Cup on 8 September at Levín Farm by Benešov!
