Miss Czech Republic has obtained licences for world competitions

In the first eight years of its duration the contest was called Miss Face Czech Republic and since 2015 it´s been sending its winners to global beauty contests, too. But when Táňa renamed the competition to MISS CZECH REPUBLIC she had to reapply for participation in international competitions; and eventually she succeeded. At the event in the luxurious Soho restaurant she was happy to announce that last year's winners are to set off to participate in foreign beauty contest. The luxurious title of Miss World will be competed for by Kateřina Kasanová, who on 8th November leaves for China, where for the whole month she is to represent the Czech Republic. What are her feelings about that?

"I look forward to it very much, but at the same time it pains me to see this year's finalists because to one of them I will sadly have to pass on my crown."

Other girls, too, go abroad to take a part in competitions. The 1st vice miss, Kristýna Langová is to fly on 4th October to take a part in the world competition Miss Grand International in Myanmar, where last year beautiful Nikola Uhlířová won a beautiful fifth place. In autumn the 2nd vice miss, Daniela Zálešáková plans to fly to Japan, where she will compete for the title of Miss International. The last of the beauties is the 3rd vice miss, Veronika Volkeová, who is preparing for a trip to luxury Philippines to try her luck in Miss International.

All the girls have been preparing very thoroughly for their representation in global competitions throughout the year since their coronation in MISS CZECH REPUBLIC, in order to achieve the best possible position. How do you think the girls will fare? 

Rise of drag queens

In 2009 in America ran a very popular competition, RuPaul's Drag Race, which made the scene of drag queen popular. Fun features of this reality show helped social acceptance of this alternative scene and to break up the myths that enveloped it. At the same time a way was made for a new wave of innovative drag queens that assailed social networks with their new approach to "drag make-up". That was the birth of luxurious Hungry.

The artist performing under the name Hungry comes from Berlin and offers his audience a look at alternative reality in which human body is forced to adapt to new surroundings. He studied fashion design in Berlin; collaborated with Vivienne Westwood in London. His luxurious work includes make-up, photography, modelling, a tailor shop as well as scenery performances.

Hungry creates new specific aesthetics, used also by Björk for her album Utopia. From faces he creates stunning masks using luxury surrealistic make-up, the body is then used as canvas, he plays around with snake-like curves, pearls and a wide range of colours. The optical illusions that she created by her art have a stunning and often very luxurious result.

"I don´t meet with reality very often."

Make-up takes approximately 2-2.5 hours. If you hanker after the overall look, including the clothes, it takes about a week. Hungry dresses as a drag queen not only for parties, but you can meet him like this also in public transport, a shopping centre or somewhere in a restaurant.
