Just a few months were enough for the newly elected US President Donald Trump to provoke not only Canada and Greenland, but also the majority of the European continent. And as if that wasn't enough, he also faces a brain drain and the departure of some celebrities. These include, among others, well-known author and university professor Timothy Snyder, singer Courtney Love, or actor Ryan Gosling.
Some of the familiar faces that have so far worked in the United States have already moved and others are planning to do so. An example is the well-known musician and widow of Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, Courtney Love. The singer, who in the past starred in Milos Forman's movie The People vs. Larry Flynt, relocated from Los Angeles to London as early as 2019, but has now applied for British citizenship. This happened after she declared that she considers Trump's return to be terrifying. According to her, the new American president and his team have adopted a sort of modern form of imperial lifestyle.
The British Isles are so far the most common place for celebrities to go on their way from the United States. According to the Daily Mail, these include comedian Ellen DeGeneres, actors Ryan Gosling and his wife Eva Mendes or fashion designer Tom Ford among others. Another speculated about in this regard is Emmy award-winning America Ferrea, who is known for the Ugly Betty series.

The primary goal is London
As some British real estate agents confirmed to the website, they have recently seen an increase in wealthy clients from the United States due to concerns about instability that could affect America during Trump's term. Many of them are moving to well-known London neighborhoods such as Notting Hill, Holland Park, Kensington, and Hampstead.
The city's mayor, Sadiq Khan, recently pointed out the influx of Americans, stating that mainly due to Trump, last year his country recorded a record number of applicants from overseas. In addition, he claims that this outflow will continue this year. The numbers support his claim. The number of applications for British citizenship increased by 40 percent in the last quarter of last year, wrote Daily Mail. Altogether, according to the same source, more than 6,100 Americans registered here last year, which is the most ever. Their number has thus strengthened by 26 percent year on year.
However, the United Kingdom is not the only target destination. Former television and movie star Rosie O´Donnel moved to Ireland. She sent a message to Trump that she would return to the country when the United States is safe and all citizens have equal rights.
But it's not just about show business stars. Historians Timothy Snyder and Marci Shore, as well as philosopher Jason Stanley, have also announced their departure in the meantime. All three confirmed that they will leave the prestigious Yale University and move to Toronto, Canada, where they will teach. Shore indicated that the cause is the results of the presidential election and fear of democracy erosion. He described the climate in the United States as an American descent into fascism, the situation was described by the magazine The Economist Times.
America is not so attractive anymore
The United States itself, which, through the mouth of its head of state, threatens Canada and Greenland that nothing awaits them but American occupation, is already reaping the fruits of what they sowed. And there are those who Donald Trump is threatening with a trade war joining in.
According to preliminary data from the Canadian Statistical Office, the number of those who traveled to their southern neighbors in February is decreasing. The decline in air travel was about 13 in year-on-year comparison, and even 23 percent in ground travel, the Wall Street Journal informed. Canadian airlines have already reduced their flight capacity to the United States by 6 percent. Local airline Flair Airlines stopped flying from Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary to Phoenix. Meanwhile, a ten percent drop in the number of Canadian tourists means a loss of two billion dollars for the American economy, which is more than 45 billion crowns in conversion, the U.S. Travel Association warned.
Impact on Elon Musk's Business
Anger is also turning against specific representatives of the current American administration. Perhaps the biggest target is the controversial billionaire and the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, who leads the DOGE group dealing with public administration efficiency. Only in Germany, the sales of his electric cars Tesla decreased by 76 percent year-on-year in February, wrote the server Ceskenoviny.cz! Quarterly sales of cars of this brand then decreased in France by 41.1 percent, in Sweden by 55.3 percent, in Norway by 12.5 percent, in Denmark by 56.4 percent and in the Netherlands by 49.7 percent, the same source stated.
In response to Musk's right-wing activism, vandals in several countries even targeted Tesla cars. The Head of the car company later described these as terrorist acts. Incidentally, Trump himself spoke similarly about the activities of vandals in the past.
Hand in hand with the world becoming polarized following the inauguration of the new American president, the number of potential hotbeds of problems associated with it is increasing. Therefore, the societal situation is definitely not as safe and flourishing as Donald Trump originally assured the public.
