Tomáš Enge – the most successful Czech racer

The most successful domestic race-car driver, who achieved many successes in motor sports. He is still the first and only Czech to sit behind the steering wheel of a Formula 1 car sixteen years ago. Yet this native of Liberec and son of famous travel car driver Břetislav Enge originally intended to play hockey and do ski jumping.

“The team around Dr Andrew Bell from Sheffield University used a statistical scientific method to calculate that the best driver in Formula 1 history was Juan-Manuel Fangio.”

El Maestro from Argentina won the world title 5 times for 4 various teams. In the 1950s he won five world championships (1951, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957) and won 24 of 52 races. He is still considered a national hero in his native Argentina and the best racer in the history of the Grand Prix. He bid farewell to his career in his Maserati in 1958.

Michael Schumacher, Germany

One of the best racers of the 1990s and turn of the century. He won the championship title for the Benetton twice (1994, 1995) and became the champion for Ferrari five times (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004). Of 208 races, he won 91. In 2013 he suffered a serious accident while skiing, which ended his racing career. There is virtually no information about this deluxe genius racer’s condition.

Sebastian Vettel, Germany

He has 4 luxurious world championship titles on his account (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013). Owing to the successes he achieved even before turning thirty, he became one of the greatest motor sport legends with a fantastic career ahead of him in 2013. He has won 39 of 120 races.

Alain Prost, Francie

This deluxe racer, nicknamed The Professor, was the greatest star of Formula 1 racing in the 1980 and 1990s along with his rival Ayrton Senna. In 1980 - 1991 he managed to win 51 races of 202. He won 4 world titles for team McLaren (1985, 1986, 1989) and Williams (1993). He ended his career as a king at the peak of his fame.

Ayrton Senna, Brazil

He won 41 of 162 races, garnering 3 championship titles for the luxurious McLaren stable (1988, 1990, 1991). He passed away in 1994 the age of 34 during a tragic accident during the Grand Prix in San Marina. His monopost left the track and hit a concrete wall. To this day, the Brazilian is considered to be one of the best pilots of all time, and even won this poll among riders.

James Hunt and Niki Lauda were the greatest rivals on the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit, so it comes as no surprise that a feature film directed by Ron Howard and based on factual events was made under the name of Rush. The film makes it quite clear that these two brilliant pilots were also rivals in their private lives.
