As well as pralines, boxes of chocolates, chocolate bars, cakes, icing or biscuits, chocolate also has a deluxe modern form. What happens when a master chocolatier creates art?

You can accessorise your outfit with a chocolate hat as well as other items

A chocolate festival is held every year in Paris and the organisers bring us something unexpected, brilliant and shocking every year. You can often expect to see chocolate fashion shows, with outfits seductively melting on the models as they walk down the runway. It is a feast for the eyes and also for the nose, because chocolate is made from fermented roasted cocoa beans. And they smell divine! Will you draw some inspiration from the fashion world and have a handbag, hat or even a dress made from chocolate?

Brilliant chocolate art by Amaury Guichon

Amaury Guichon is not a sculptor, artist or joiner. He is a master chocolatier and magician in one and his chocolate pieces are decadently luxurious! You cannot tell the difference between the real thing and the baked copy.

“I try to create something that has not been done before. I also like mystifying the senses by creating things that look like everyday items, like watches, eggs, a compass, belt, cigar or other items”, says A. Guichon.

White, brown and nearly black are a little cliché now. What about naturally pink “Ruby” chocolate?

Yes, it really does exist! The Swiss cocoa company Barry Callebaut recently introduced a fourth shade of chocolate – ruby. The pink colour is created using the Ruby cocoa bean grown in the region of Ecuador or the Ivory Coast. This chocolate has no added flavourings or colourings and it can be used to make breath-taking deluxe pieces. See for yourselves in our gallery below the article.
