We often enthusiastically discuss what the future holds. And it is with astonishment that we look at things which a few years ago would not have found a place in our wildest of fantasies. Would you ever have thought that we would be riding a motorbike with two wheels at the front? And now you see, we will be!
The Yamaha Niken is a luxury motorbike, or more precisely a “Leaning Multi-Wheeler” which has stunned the motoring world. This is to say that instead of one wheel at the front, it has two and each has its own set of forks. Riders can thus enjoy a more stable and safer ride yet not miss out on that unique lean. The Niken allows you to lean into an angle of up to 45 degrees.
Have you noticed the perfect design which looks like it fell to earth from a spaceship of the future? The luxurious wide grille gives the Niken an aggressive and unmistakable look. The front wheels are fifteen inches in diameter, the rear wheel is 17 inches. The machine is held together by a light hybrid frame made from steel and aluminium. The Niken is equipped with a three-cylinder 847 cc engine with high torque.
This is not the first model with three wheels (ten years ago, we had the Piaggio MP3 which also had two wheels at the front), but it is certainly a luxurious machine the likes of which we have not seen before. And it isn’t even here yet! It is expected that the first few machines should be shipped from Japan to the USA in the middle of 2018. We will see them on the European market even later.
The price of this luxurious and alluring machine has not been specified yet, but one thing is certain: you should start saving. You still have a relatively long time to do so!
