Brazilian racer and former Formula 1 pilot Tarso Marques created quite an uproar:

He developed a cross between a bike and an aircraft!

You can tell that this man is a huge fan of luxury bikes. TMC (Tarso Marques Concept) Dumont, as he calls the bike, honors the Brazilian aviation pioneer, Albert Santos Dumont, who is considered a national hero as well as a renowned aviation innovator in Brazil. He is one of the few people who contributed significantly to the development of aircrafts.

Giant wheels and an atypical engine form the basis of the concept design

You can't miss the atypical shape of this luxury motorbike. It might have been the author’s attempt to express that technology is continuously progressing in a futuristic direction, and that motorbikes won’t be left behind by the hyper-modern cars, whose designers seem to be competing who can come up with the most spectacular vision. The author was not content with anything ordinary. He felt that TMC Dumont deserved something unique and powerful, with a roaring sound and bold look. According to him, a regular engine would have been boring.

"It is a very special project that I’ve been dreaming of for at least 15 years. It was very difficult to implement it without the technological assistance of external partners. I wanted it to be a 100 % Brazilian project - from the aerograph airbrush painting up to the metalwork on the wheels and chassis," says Tarso Marques.

Tarso decided for the Roll Royce Continental V6 aircraft engine from the 1960s featuring 300 horsepower and the whopping 36-inch mid-sized wheels without center caps, each of them measuring about a meter in diameter.

What does the future hold for this luxury machine?

The motorcycle was built in Brazil and took seven months to finish. Currently, Tarso Marque has no intention to sell TMC Dumont. But that could change - we might yet see this ultramodern machine on the roads!
