Tesla Roadster is an exceptional electric vehicle and engineers as well as designers have been at pains for it to excel through features which surpass petrol-driven cars! Elon Musk described the step as a “hardcore smackdown to gasoline-addicted industry”, adding that "Driving any other turbo-charged sports car, is going to feel like a steam engine with a side of quiche”.
The maximum speed of the unique electric sports car is 250mph. The current record is held by Koenigsegg Agera RS that can whizz past at 277.87 mph.
The prototype of the Tesla Roadster base model will go from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds and Musk maintains that its production version may achieve even better results. From 0 to 100 mph should be achieved within luxurious 4.2 seconds.
Under the bonnet of the roadster you will find three engines - one in the front, which drives the front wheels, and two rear engines for the rear. And as regards endurance, this luxury car has a 200kWh battery pack and a 620-mile range per charge!
Tesla Roadster is fitted with four seats, but the back space is not spacious by any means and only people of smaller statute will be absolutely comfortable.
The standard price of base model will start at $200,000 and although it may seem too much to you, Tesla represents a relatively cheap option compared to any sports car with similar performance - such as Porsche 918 Spyder costs approximately £718,000 and Bugatti Chiron around $2.5 million.
The first 1,000 Founders Series models with more performance will be available for an asking price of $250,000.
The luxury vehicle will be put on the market in 2020.
