The European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, is preparing to fit its aircraft with chairs featuring a reclining function. Airbus would be the first modern airline which would offer sleeping pods. This project is being cooperated upon by Zodiac Aerospace. The sleeping modules will be installed in A330 passenger airplanes and perhaps in future also into new aircraft A350 XWB. Everything is still in a phase of a thought-through concept, pending approval by aviation authorities. Nevertheless this lucrative objective to indulge the passengers, offering upgraded luxury already reaped a good measure of positive feedback.
Airbus A330 is a wide-body twin-engine jet passenger airliner for medium and long lines produced by Airbus. It is currently the most frequently flying wide-body type of airplane at all. Versions A330-200 and A 300 are capable to fly within a range from 5,600 to approximately 13,500 km and hold up to 335 passengers.
The model compartment will definitely be luxurious; featuring minimalist décor. Various types of modules will be dispersed throughout the aircraft, including bunk beds. It is also apparent from the concept that the aircraft with sleeping modules will also include amenities such as a bar, a child and family zone, conference zone, lounge and health care centre. The passenger sleeping modules will be very variable, functional and easily exchangeable for standard cargo containers should the airlines wish to change the configuration during a stopover or on the return journey.
