Gradual changes

Virginia Viard didn't immediately start making major changes, which is good. She incorporated trademark Chanel elements into her luxury models, including precision craftsmanship inherent to haute couture.

In addition to the traditional tweed, the collection also featured luxurious velvet, sleek satin or fine materials such as organza and chiffon.

From ensembles to fashion gems

This time, the iconic Chanel ensembles were complemented by velvet dresses, stylish overalls, long slim fit gowns, chic coats, as well as rich fluffy skirts and gowns with sophisticated and sensual designs. This collection simply has it all!

And which models did our editorial staff fall in love with? A dress consisting of a white blouse with collar and a camel skirt, a gorgeous light purple chiffon dress and a black satin dress with fallen shoulders and a white belt. Our reaction to these pieces is simple: WOW!

Chanel's new Haute Couture collection turned out fantastic. To tell you the truth, I wasn't worried about the new creative director's reign at all, because there has always been a strong bond between Karl Lagerfeld and Virginia Viard. The two of them were close friends for years, so I feel confident to say that Karl trained his "ward" perfectly for the position of the future chief of Chanel.

This collection is a mix the old Chanel with and a stream that I really enjoy! I was thoroughly impressed by the olive A-shape skirt with a sleeveless, ruffled white blouse. It pushes the borders of luxury daywear elegance. Would you like to see a polo match in the weekend and have a late brunch? That's a loud yes from me!

And what to wear in the evening? A black dress coupled with a classic white shirt and a black bow around the neck as a tribute to Karl. After all, this was his trademark look! A sophisticated dinner, brightened up with a little concert in a jazz club, or maybe an evening of classical music in the Rudolfinum? Splendid!
