It is the lowest point on Earth and belongs among the most unique places in the world. The Dead Sea is a famous salt water lake that cures not only our souls, but mainly our bodies.

A beautiful, yet unswimmable sea

It's common knowledge that the Dead Sea, thanks to its salinity, helps you float and has a healing effect. But that doesn't mean it is an ideal place for a two-week vacation. Bathing is almost impossible, as you can't really swim in the sea. Salt and mud will definitely be good for your body, helping with skin problems in particular, but the time you should be spending in the water is limited. It contains 21 minerals, 12 of which are not found in any other sea. Up to 250 g of salt can be found in one liter of water.

Equally beneficial is the sun that shines here for more than 300 days a year, and the air, saturated with healing minerals.

There's a risk that it will be gone in 30 years!

Unfortunately, this miracle is slowly disappearing from the map of the world. Its surface drops nearly by a meter every year and it threatens to evaporate altogether by 2050. Four years ago, Israel, Jordan, and Palestine concluded an agreement and they want to bring water from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea through underground pipelines, simultaneously improving drinking water supplies in the area. The project is to be completed in 2021 and will cost about $10 billion (220 billion of Czech crowns).
