Easter is a popular holiday not just in the Czech republic, but all around the world. Each country celebrates them in its own way and so you can enjoy colourful fairs in various places throughout April.

Festival in Berlin by car

Are you looking for an adventure? Then join all the knights, jugglers and dancers heading to the Zitadelle Spandau in Berlin for the Knight's Festival (20.-22.4.), where you can also find a huge Easter market full of traditional crafts, Easter decorations and traditional home-made sausages.

Vienna by train

One of the most popular markets can be found in the courtyard of the former imperial residence Schönbrunn (6.-23.4.), where handicrafts from all over Austria are being sold. The Altwiener Ostermarkt (5.-22.4.) on the ancient Freyung Square also belongs to the most luxurious fairs. The main attraction of the market is Europe's largest mountain of eggs, built from 40,000 Easter eggs. Train tickets from Prague start as low as 300 CZK.

Vatican by plane

Tens of thousands of believers from all over the world will take part in the Urbi et orbi in St. Peter's Square in Vatican. It is a traditional Easter blessing granted by Pope Francis at the Lord's Resurrection (Easter Sunday). You can visit not one, but several fairs here. Ticket prices from Prague to Rome start at around 1,500 CZK.

Over the hills and far away

At Easter, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Egypt seem to be the most popular destinations. And even in these countries, you will find a great number of luxury (not only) Easter markets. In Oman, you shouldn’t miss the most famous Arab market (souk) in Muscat. The market of Khan Al-Khalili in Cairo (Egypt) or the Dubai Spice Souk in the Emirates are also worth visiting.

Just around the corner

The chateau in Mníšek pod Brdy will host already the 18th traditional Easter celebration with a charity fund-raising (20.4.). A luxury fair with handmade jewelry, homemade sausages, honey and Easter decorations won’t be amiss.

Of course, we can’t forget about the Prague markets on the Old Town Square (6-28.4.), Wenceslas Square, Republic Square or in Dejvice. You can enjoy Easter feasts and traditions almost until the end of April.
