If you are interested in the architecture and creation of Eva Jiřičná, pay a visit to DOX. You will be amazed at how much this successful Czech architect has accomplished to date!
The exhibition is dominated by the luxury spiral glass staircase from 1994, which has now, after more than 20 years, been restored and its beauty can finally shine. It had been designed for the interior of the Parisian Joan & David network of shops and was left sleeping somewhere in the cellar since 1998 when the branch was closed.
Most of the designs and architectural solutions of Eva Jiřičná are presented at the exhibition in the form of a multimedia installation - 4 screens depict 4 decades of her work, amazing buildings that were brought to the world or participated in architectural competitions back in those times. On the first floor above the main exhibition you can see the luxurious models of her fundamental designs, whether those that have been given form, or those that remained in the form of models forever.
Eva Jiřičná spent most of her life in London, where she founded the Eva Jiricna Architects architectural studio in 1984. It is therefore natural that this is the place where she has been most active. She was responsible for the interior designs of many luxury fashion boutiques (such as Kenzo), her unique spiral staircase decorates the interior of the spectacular Somerset House. If you find yourself at Canada Water Station, know that the entire space was designed by her.
Together with Ing. Arch. Petr Vágner, she founded the AI DESIGN studio in Prague in 1999 and she is also the author of several amazing buildings in Prague and Zlín, where she comes from.
