Vila Srbín

Modern, timeless and unusual architecture may also be found in plenty of cases here, in our conditions. The architectonic jewel of Srbín was built under the baton of Czech studio Martin Čeněk Architecture. Explore this beautiful, Czech piece of unique architecture.

The civilisation bustle was all left behind by this villa.

Here the time passes much more slower. The family house is situated in the quiet surroundings of Mukařov. It was designed on a large, partly wooded plot of land, in contact with water, in this case with a pond. The aim was to set the new construction into the terrain so as to blend beautifully with the surrounding garden and slope and minimise its modern impression. Thanks not only to appropriate materials such as decorative quarry stone, it was a success.

Luxurious Srbín in "Zoom"

On closer inspection you find that the house is composed of two basic simple parts of which the bottom, main residential storey of the house, in part recesses into the terrain. It features open frameless, fully glazed walls allowing free views, blending the interior with the garden. Uphill and toward the adjacent plot of land to the northeast there are supporting walls made of, as has already been mentioned, quarry stone.

The same luxury cladding can also be found in the interior. The great attraction of this house are large windows of the bedroom shielded by sliding shutters of perforated sheet metal. These are oriented to the south-east, into the garden and allow entry to a simple wooden deck with a transition to a green roof and the upper part of the garden.

The interior suitably combines elements of modernity and nature

The luxurious interior of this modern building is spacious, open, free-flowing from the lobby to the living space around the kitchen area, cloakrooms and a lift from the garage and technical amenities. It is dominated by double-sided fireplace separating the dining and relaxation, living room part of the house. The building also features a covered terrace.

A striking element of the interior is a cantilever steel staircase to the first floor, illuminated by a skylight. It is also no surprise that this modern house is low-energy, with emphasis on the use of solar energy in the winter months and elimination of overheating during the rest of the year.
