The PragueCon long-awaited by all fans of comic books, comic films, and fantasy series will take place from September 28th to 30th at the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds. This is the first year, and everyone is looking forward to what it will be like.
Primarily about TV series and movie stars and comic book superheroes. But also about adrenaline, news from the game world and military and space technology. In addition to celebrities from the world of comics and fantasy, there will also be an elite army unit of the Czech Republic, which will show you how it fights, and you can try the CQB intrusion technique. In return, you can then slay them in paintball!
You can show off your luxurious costumes and acting skills in a cosplay competition. It's not just fancy dress, this trend originated in Japan and aims to portray a character's personality as accurately as possible in terms of their costume and behavior.
One of the main stars at the festival will be comic book illustrator Jim Lee, who is one of the top of contemporary comic artists. He is also a writer and publisher co-operating with Marvel and DC Comics.
Pat Mills, a comic book author from Britain and the founder of the 2000 AD comic book (published since 1977), is also visiting Prague for PragueCon. It has one main reason: the story of his hero Defoe (zombie hunter) is set in 17th century Bohemia in places like the mysterious Castle of Houska or the Devil's Bible. Visitors can participate in completing his story.
Friday is dedicated to the film Guardians of the Galaxy, Saturday to the TV shows Vikings and Knightfall, and Sunday to the fabulous Game of Thrones. Visitors can meet many celebrities from both film and TV series production.
And if an elf or goblin runs past you, you can be sure you do are not dreaming! They are also an integral part of this unique event.
