El Día de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is a holiday that originates from Mexico which is traditionally accompanied by calaveras together with “living” skeletons and skulls. Accompanied by cheerful music, they dance, sing and rumble their bones: i.e. they really celebrate life!
In a limited edition of Hublot's luxurious watches which have a diameter of 44 mm, you'll find 30 ceramic and 20 steel models which are complemented by 10 luxurious red-gold models. The precisely engraved skulls are also complemented by classic Mexican decorations in the forms of flowers and decorative engravings.
The holiday of El Día de los Muertos has been a recognised feature of the world's intangible cultural heritage since 2008. In Mexico, friends and families gather to pray and remember the close ones who have died. At the same time, they support their spiritual path. In fact, it is a cheerful and colourful celebration of life, which has a tradition of more than 300 years.
