The Billionaire Building One57: the Most Expensive Living in New York
A luxury skyscraper that was built at the time of the crisis
The One57 skyscraper was built between the years 2009 and 2014. Its design comes from Christian de Portzamparco, who is a prominent French architect and was the first in his country to win the Pritzker Prize in 1994. In the light of his previous projects, he came up with a definitive solution: i.e. during the economic crisis to build the tallest residential building in New York.
The interior was designed by a Danish architect, Thomas Juul-Hansen, who is responsible for many of the exclusive residences that are located in New York.
Lightweight dark glass that forms vertical streaks was used for constructing this L-shaped building. At the same time it adds illumination to the building and maximises the luxurious feelings of stunning views. The height of the skyscraper is 306 metres and there is a luxury hotel and there also apartments.
The Park Hyatt Hotel and the most luxurious apartments
The Park Hyatt Flagship Hotel is located in a skyscraper that features 210 deluxe rooms including 92 exclusive suites that occupy the upper floors and that offer truly unique views. It is no wonder, therefore, that these are the most expensive residences in New York City.
Construction that was threatened by a hurricane
On the 29th October 2012, Hurricane Sandy rushed through the construction site and caused a partial crash of the crane on the building and resulted in the evacuation of hotel guests and residents in the neighbourhood for cca. 6 days. Nothing, however, threatened the overall construction and it could continue after a few days. Now this luxury skyscraper can be found at 157 West 57th Street in Manhattan.
