The luxury Apple Park: Steve Jobs’ dream is coming true

Apple Park is the future headquarters of Apple Inc., which is located on the west coast of the United States of America. It is currently under construction and the final section should be finished at the end of 2017. A small section is already open for its roughly 2,000 employees. This example of modern architecture will be replacing the company’s current headquarters called the Apple Campus. The woody complex with an area of almost 71 hectares includes the main building shaped like a giant circle with an area of more than 260,000 square metres. There are footpaths there with a total length of over three kilometres, a large fitness centre and a carpark for 11,000 employees. The complex even has its own power plant. There is also a theatre there with 1,000 seats named after Steve Jobs. An extremely interesting point is that 80% of this centre will be made up of greenery specially adapted to counter the very dry local climate.
The circular building with a diameter of 492 metres was designed in the studio of the British architect Norman Foster.
For comparison
The luxurious Apple Park building has a floor plan larger that the American Pentagon. Its diameter is larger than the height of the Empire State Building in New York. The area taken up by the building is more than 26 hectares.

“Steve and his vision for Apple stretched far beyond the borders of the time he was able to be here with us. He did plan to build the luxury Apple Park, which will be home to innovation for the future generation. The office spaces and the parks have been designed in such a way as to inspire our team and also to help the environment. We have created one of the most energy-efficient buildings in the world and the whole campus runs exclusively on renewable sources of energy”, said Tim Cook.
