US soldiers died during exercise in Lithuania

Three US Army soldiers, who were lost in Lithuania, were found dead in their armored vehicle, which was pulled from a swampy area early on Monday morning, the US Army command in Europe and Africa reported. Another soldier is still missing.

The bodies of the three soldiers were found after an extensive six-day effort by American, Polish, and Lithuanian armed forces and officials after the M88 Hercules vehicle was excavated from a peat bog on the extensive General Silvestras Žukauskas training ground in the city of Pabrade. The second largest British city declared a state of emergency after a sanitation workers' strike left over 17,000 tons of uncollected garbage on the sidewalk.
