Every year in February and September international fashion collections are presented at the world’s largest shows that are called Fashion Weeks. The Big Fashion Four group comprises New York, London, Milan and Paris.
New York Fashion Week, which was established in 1993, is credited to the Council of Fashion Designers of America. It was created from an original fashion event called Press Week, which had existed there since 1943. This year, for example, there were collections of the luxurious Zimmermann and Ralph Lauren brands and also independent designers such as Ryan Roche, Yuna Yang, Vera Wang, Oday Shakar and Chloe Gossellin will be presented on the catwalks.
One of the Big Four shows will also be held in London, where it is organised by the British Fashion Council. The first show was organised there in 1983. The London Fashion Week is open to the public and it will be held at The Store Studios, which were created in imitation of The Store in Berlin. This location offers luxury venues for fashion shows and for other major events. This year, for example, London Fashion Week will present collections of the following brands and designers: Alice Archer, House of Holland, Burberry, Ashish, Emilio de la Morena and many more.
Of the Big Fashion Four the Italian city of Milan must definitely not be left out. This city of fashion and design will host Fashion Week in late February. More than 40 shows will be taking place in elegant and inspiring spaces and they will temporarily transform the city into the World Centre of Fashion. Examples of the locations that will be used are: Palazzo Reale, Pallazo Serbelloni and many more. Enjoy luxury and original spring collection by Gucci or provocative Elisabetta Franchi.
The best time in which to visit Paris is February. Not only can you enjoy some luxurious romancing on Valentine’s Day, but at this time the best designers, artists, stylists and models will also be gathering there. Paris Fashion Week will feature luxurious ready-to-wear collections created by world-famous fashion brands and designers. Amongst other features, the Paris fashion show will also include a Men’s haute couture collection. Presenting these items will be, for example, John Galliano, Simone Porte Jacquemus or racy Yohji Yamamoto.
