Adela Banášová, now Adela Vinczeová, is a well-known Slovak presenter, who probably doesn’t need to be introduced in more detail. A few years ago, she won the hearts of the audience with her interesting expression and sense of humour when hosting the Czech-Slovak singing competition SuperStar. In an interview for LP-Life.com, Adéla spoke to us about how she was doing, what her lockdown life was like, what her husband enchanted her with, with whom she would like to have a relationship, and she even had some amazing news to share.

How is your life during this current pandemic period?

Relatively fine. We have our jobs, we are healthy, we are well off mentally, I'm not complaining.

Will you get vaccinated?

When it's my turn, for sure. I don’t see any other way out of this situation.

How would you describe the reign of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Igor Matovič, in one sentence?

A lesson.

You and your husband Viktor belong to the most exemplary couples of Slovak show business. How do you feel about the ten-year age difference between you, now that you’ve been together for a while?

We are hardly even aware of it anymore. It took me a very short time to say "yes" to him, it happened after mere months of dating.

What did your husband enchant you with?

Viki is a very wise man with the right perspective. He doesn’t let things needlessly trouble him, which is an attitude we share with each other. We enjoy life and focus on the things that bring us pleasure. In short, living with such a person is very pleasant.

What should your husband tell you more often if he wanted to please you?

He tells me everything I need to be told. And even if he tells me something unpleasant every now and then, it's always what I need to hear.

Which unreachable man would you like to have an affair with?

With the Dalai Lama. A purely spiritual one, of course.

Who did you get your first kiss from and what preceded it?

From Juraj. After class during a school field trip.

What are your hobbies?

I don’t have time for any. But I’ve got a new Instagram account to take care of, for the show Trochu jinak (A Bit Differently), where I’m creating a parallel universe in stories and I enjoy it. It's creative. Due to the closure of the Slovak National Theater, the show "Trochu jinak" also went online and it's a good thing that it got its own communication platform on Instagram. But in stories, I usually create my own tales. Otherwise yoga, fitness, simply put some form of physical exercise.

How do you distribute housework at home? Do you share the opinion that the kitchen belongs exclusively to women?

The kitchen belongs to anyone who enjoys being there. For a long time that has been me, but a few weeks ago Viktor took command.

You are a successful presenter not only in Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic. You started using the surname Vinczeová, which some have not yet fully adapted to. Let's mention, for example, the host of Showtime on FTV Prima Petr Vágner, who misnamed you, or the actress and your friend Tereza Kostková. What happened in her case?

I don't even know what Tereza said anymore, I’ve forgotten about it. But Peter introduced me as "Vinczenzová." I think that's a very nice version of my name. It didn't mind it at all. It's funny and I enjoy the different versions of me.

It has long been publicly known that you and your husband are longing to have a child together. Are you still considering adoption?

We have been in the adoption process for about a year. A lot has been written about it. But I don't know if "longing" is the right word. I’d rather say that we’re creating an opportunity. We are satisfied with what we have, we aren’t in the habit of blaming life for writing its own script for us.

What kind of mom will you be? The kind that forbids her children from everything, or the kind that believes in freedom?

Fans see you as an elegant and sophisticated lady who has a way with words. What made you decide to become a presenter?

As a kid, I used to play-pretend being on the radio for fun, but becoming a presenter wasn’t my goal. It came gradually. But basically, everything that develops from a child’s play is a source of joy.

Are you into luxury?

It depends on what you consider luxury. Nowadays, having access to drinking water can be considered a luxury. I, for one, am grateful to have that. And in the general sense of the word, I like quality, even luxurious restaurants, for example.

Do you do any sports?

I practice yoga or I do my work out at home. Before Covid, I used to go to the gym and had a coach. Currently, I’m adding more long walks, which have become the only form of socialization with my friends. Of course in a limited number and in face masks.

Who is your favourite friend in the world of show business?

Viktor Vincze. I also really like Sajfa, Dan Dangl, Filip Túma, Juraj Čurný, Martin Nikodým, Evelyn, Zuzka Šebová ... I could go on forever. But I guess only a few are my true friends. Thanks to the joint tour of ONA and ON (SHE and HE), I also have a very special personal relationship with Richard Müller.

You hosted the Czechoslovak SuperStar alongside Leoš Mareš. What kind of person do you think he is?

Bývalých vztahů nelituji. Všechny byly důležité a daly mi hodně do života. S Péťou Modrovským i s Tomášem si píšeme k svátku, můj vztah k nim je jenom kladný.

Leos is very open, honest and spontaneous. He's a phenomenon. I admit that it has often been a refreshing co-hosting challenge. Cooperating with him definitely gave me a boost.

Don’t you regret your former relationships with Tomáš Bezdeda and Petr Modrovský?

I don’t regret my former relationships. They were all important and gave me a lot of experience. With Péta Modrovský and Tomáš, we exchange birthday wishes, my relationship with them is nothing but positive.

Have you always wanted to be the one who asks questions, or is it better to be the one who answers them?

I quite enjoy both. I like interviews as such, because something develops in them and you refine your thoughts or open new horizons.

How do you perceive fashion?

As art.

How does the famous Adéla live today? Does she have a star temperament?

She has a two-bedroom apartment. I don't know what star temperament is. I’d probably need an example.

Do you ever have stage fever?

At the beginning of a presenter gig, I always feel this inner tension. But I don't let myself be overwhelmed by fear. I always tell myself the good old saying: "No need to worry, cause nobody cares about you anyway."

What do you think about plastic surgery?

That it’s a matter of personal preferences and free choice.

Who do you consider an interesting personality?

Probably everyone. It depends only on how much time and attention you give them.

Adela Vinczová has also been through some difficult times. You’ve had surgery to prevent cervical cancer...

I'd rather call it a procedure. It was conization. Personally, I don't consider it a difficult period. I had a nice rest. But I'm glad that I was going for regular check-ups and still do, thanks to which the problem was caught at a time when it could be easily dealt with. Women should not underestimate this.

What is your life motto, according to which you live?

That everything happens in accordance with a higher order.

Do you profess any religion?

No. But I believe in many of the ideas that are contained in some religions.

What was the worst thing that has ever happened to you?

Nothing bad has happened to me. Everything was either instructive or empowering. I don't divide it that way.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

My heart.

If you could turn back time, what would you do differently?

Nothing.

What do you think of most often?

Work.

What was your biggest childhood dream?

I didn't have any big dreams. Not even as an adult.

Which of your fantasies or dreams would you like to turn into a movie?

I often dream of nuclear explosions, but that’s been filmed many times. But recently, I had this dream in which such strange entities had stolen my duvet through the window, that could be interesting.

What do you like to do with your money?

I invest.

What do you think people around you are complaining about?

Everyone basically complains about themselves. How we handle things depends on the world we carry within us.

What movie have you seen several times and what did you find interesting about it?

Groundhog Day. It's an amazing and funny lesson about everything in life that can change our attitude to a given situation.

Are you afraid during interviews that you'll ask a stupid question and people will laugh at you?

I am, but everything pretty much always happens the way it should.

Thank you very much for the interview and I wish you a lot of success in the future.
