Actor Simon Baker probably hasn't been living his best life in recent weeks. He and his wife Rebecca Rigg announced their divorce after nearly thirty years of marriage. They agreed to sell the house where they lived together in Santa Monica, California. The six-bedroom New England-style residence sells for 139 million crowns.
Breakup after 13 years
The former star of the crime series "The Mentalist" bought the property more than 13 years ago for 102 million crowns. Built in 2000, the mansion has been regularly renovated in recent years. It spans over an area of 450 square meters, offering six bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Bricks everywhere you look

As mentioned, the whole house was built in the New England style, an integral part of which are bricks. And we're not speaking only about brick walls. You'll also find a lot of antique brick flower pots in Baker's mansion. They are, in fact, the main unifying design element of the house. Already as you enter the courtyard, you'll be able to spot a few of them along the gravel path.
Barn-like ceilings

The house looks very airy, mainly due to the interconnection of several rooms and the high vaulted ceilings, which resemble those you would find in a barn. Moreover, their white colour adds to the freshness of the interior and visually enlarges the room.
White dominates the whole house. The lounge, for example, features a wall full of bookshelves, complete with a wooden ladder. This cosy corner will satisfy all bookworms!
Straight to the kitchen

The lounge leads straight to the adjoined kitchen, which, much like the rest of the house, is designed in a rustic style. A significant element are three identical onion-shaped pendant lights above the farm table. The dining chairs are carved in the French style.
The kitchen cabinets are in navy colour, which goes well with the wicker bar stools at the kitchen island. The whole room looks very open thanks to the French windows letting in enough daylight. Cooking must be a blast here!

The master bedroom with a high ceiling can be considered the refuge of the house. You'll find there a study, a marble bathroom, a huge walk-in closet and a sunny terrace overlooking the courtyard. The most unique element of the private bathroom is its high bathtub. Many people might need a stool to climb into it!

The guest rooms are special through their unusual lighting fixtures, all of which were created to order. In one of the rooms, for example, there is a chandelier in the shape of a ship.

Outdoor living, especially in sunny California, is a big hit. Many celebrities thus have perfect equipped gardens. Simon Baker is no exception. One kitchen inside wasn't enough for him, he got to enjoy two. The outside one is designed in the same navy colour.
In addition, high fences around the yard ensure absolute privacy, so you can enjoy sunbathing by the pool without a swimsuit.
