Men's fashion week is over and our fashion editors, together with actress and model Kateřina Klausová, took a closer look at three brands that have a significant say in the world of fashion - Prada, Dior and Etro. Who rocked the fashion week, who was an utter failur, and what will be in this autumn? Come see for yourself!
Prada evidently got the impression that all men would spend the following months either at home or confined to their offices from dawn to dusk… And that nobody would see them there. Because what they presented is a display of boredom and a fashion suicide. Yes, one can find a couple of halfway decent models in the SS 2021 collection, but as the late Mrs. Jolanda, a well-known Czech fortune teller (may she rest in peace) would say, "I see a big bad here."
Let's take a closer look at this tragedy. Yes, we know that sweatpants are very comfy, and let's be honest with ourselves, every other person wears them at home, but should they really make up the majority of a luxury collection from Prada? To add insult to injury, paired with knitted sweaters or - horror of horrors - shirts with a tie?! Please, someone put an end to this slaughter before it's too late. The same goes for overalls, which should rather be a part of a car mechanic's wardrobe.
We'd really like to praise the creative director Rafa Simons for something, but, well... There's nothing to praise here. Even if something has promising potential, such as this awesome coat, he goes and kills it with sweatpants again. Oh well, hopefully in half a year, we'll be able to say something nice about the new collection!
And now let's move on to Etro, which totally blew us away. The play of colors that Kean Etro came up with is simply unreal. If you've previously thought that salmon, fuchsia or orange were a bit too much if worn by a man, believe us, this collection will make you change your opinion on these shades.
Loose and breezy cuts, fresh moccasins, T-shirts with a collar and ties or scarves around the neck created a fine balance and helped the SS 2021 collection maintain masculinity. Of course, Etro didn't fail to include the iconic paisley pattern, this time applied to stylish bomber jackets, T-shirts or men's bags and ties.
If you're looking for a brand you can never go wrong with, Dior is your choice. The luxury SS 2021 collection only confirms it and we won't hesitate to admit that this was love at first sight. And at second sight, too. Dior, that's classic fashion loaded with charm and nifty tricks that will light up every man's wardrobe.
What Dior really won us over with this time are the shorts and waist pants, combined with luxurious shirts, sweaters or long coats. Hats and the right choice of shoes spice up the outfits. If you want to see a man that has the hang of the latest trends, browse through the entire SS 2021 collection and you won't be disappointed.
I'm not an expert, I usually judge things on the like/dislike basis, and I'm talking mainly about stuff regarding women's fashion here. And now I am to judge a men's collection - well, that really depends on how sexy the guy wearing it is, right?
Alright, I've just said Dior for two, but the truth is that if my boyfriend put on these shorts... Yeah, no. Quite frankly, it took me a couple of minutes to figure out whether I was looking at a men's or a women's collection. I don't mean to sound like a Puritan, I like it when guys have their own distinctive, maybe even crazy style, but of course it also depends on their overall body constitution. When a boy weighs 20 kg soaking wet... I'd say choosing these outfits was definitely a mistake.
Finally, at least in my opinion, something that looks wearable. I like the cut and the colors and at the same time I enjoy the careless elegance of sweatpants.
Anyone who's already stumbled across Etro is probably aware that a man needs to have balls to wear it. Or in other words, he should find himself in this style. However, I enjoy my next choice and if a guy knows how to wear it and does so with pride, then why the hell not! You gotta get fun out of life.
In conclusion, I'd like to sum it all up by saying that I personally definitely enjoy it when a guy has a unique style, but only if he keeps a bit of testosterone in it :-)
