But did you know that even kitchen tiles or prostitutes celebrate their special day somewhere in the world? Let's have a look together at the 7 most bizarre holidays that the world commemorates every year.
1) World Rat Day: April 4
Some people are scared witless of them, others decided to celebrate their existence. Rats have been celebrating their day on April 4 since 2002. The aim of the holiday is to point out that these rodents are not only sewer-dwellers, but can also become faithful companions in the household for people of all ages.

On the fourth of April, another obscurity has been celebrating its day since 2003 - the carrot! It is the only vegetables blessed with a holiday of its own. 3) International Tile Day: May 21
As strange as it may sound, it actually makes a lot of sense. Tiles and paving have accompanied humanity for millennia, which is why representatives of the Archtiles company and Czech artists have decided that these materials should also have their own holiday. They added tiles to the list of holidays in 2015.
4) Towel day: May 25
When you don't have time to blow your hair out after your morning shower on May 25, remember that it doesn't matter, on the contrary! Feel free to head to the office or bank with a turban on your head. You know, the world has been celebrating Towel Day, which commemorates the late writer Douglas Adams and his famous work The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, since 2001. A towel plays a crucial role in his books.
5) International Whores' Day: June 2
In countries like Germany, prostitutes still can't get a license that would enable the officially perform their job, but no one can take away from them their very own international day. It falls on June 2 and has been celebrated (somewhat surprisingly, perhaps) since 1975. The aim of the holiday is to point out that even sex workers have their rights.
6) International No Panty Day: June 22
Panties celebrate their existence, or rather non-existence, in mid-June. Don't think much about the meaning of the holiday. It was established in 2013 as a kind of prank and its goal is simple: to treat yourself to a commando day. It might actually lift your spirits and in addition, you will feel pleasantly daring, but beware of possible urinary tract infections. If you get one, you might not forget about June 22 for quite some time!
7) World Toilet Day: November 19
Since 2001, toilets have also been celebrating their day. The holiday owes its origin to the non-profit organization World Toilet Organization and also to the UN, which recognized it as official in 2013. The holiday aims to draw attention to the lack of sanitation facilities in developing countries and the resulting dangers for people.
