Right at the beginning, we would like to assure you that you don't have to worry about losing your favorite brand. In short, Jean Paul Gaultier has simply decided to finally indulge in well-deserved rest and take it more easy from now on, but his brand will naturally continue to function. And what kind of departure did the fashion genius prepare for us? An absolutely phenomenal one - he introduced over an incredible 170 models in Paris! Walking down the catwalk were burlesque dancer and model Dita Von Teese, Bradley Cooper's former partner Irina Shayk or Madonna's legendary pointed breasts.
Way to go, Gaultier! The SS20 haute couture fashion show was entertainment at its finest from the beginning to the end. It all started with luxury outfits that the models didn't wear on their bodies, but in front of them! This optical illusion is simply hilarious and we don't remember the last time we saw something like this.
Shortly afterwards, a show of sensual lingerie and corsets followed, presented, among others, by the charismatic Dita Von Teese or former partner of heartbreaker Bradley Cooper - Irina Shayk. She wore a corset with pointed breasts, which brings back memories of the legendary piece, with which the popular Madonna shocked the public in the 1990s. Yes, this was once the work of Jean Paul Gaultier, too.
The inflatable blow-up doll model dressed in latex was totally bizzare. Perverted, twisted or hilarious? Probably a wild mix of all of that!
Jean Paul Gaultier must love the Czech Republic... or he happened to have a lot of red, blue and white leftovers in his studio. In any case, he decided to conjure up this outfit, which could easily become our national costume. Whatever the case may be, it made us very happy!
Each and every piece in this collection is luxurious. But if we are to pick our TOP 5 favorites, we definitely need to include these two models that look like they've stepped out of a smoldering hot Victoria's Secret fashion show.
Bottom line, if Jean Paul Gaultier really aims to leave the fashion scene, we couldn't have wished for a better goodbye! More models from the SS20 haute couture collection can be found in the gallery at the end of the article.
The world famous designer has a reason to celebrate. Not only because his name has resonated in the fashion world for fifty years. His "last" show, the "last" possibly being only a joke, took the wind from the sails of all the other designers present and lifted the guests in the auditorium from their chairs.
The spring collection itself presented many of Paul's highlights as we know them. There were corset dresses, sexy stockings or models with artificial nipples. All in all, the entire show was definitely eye-catching and deserved ovations.
Most of the models are too daring for me, to be honest, and I would only wear them for a swingers-themed party, but I did find a couple wearable pieces one can boast while strolling through the town. This, for example, is a brilliant model in my opinion. A very sexy top and comfortable pants with braces. Together, it forms a bizarre spectacle, where you can't decide if the wearer is about to paint her room or head to the catwalk. The pumps with stoppers not unlike those you can see on footballers are, in my opinion, not only pleasing for the eye, but also practical, no matter if you just want to walk in them, or paint that room.
This will never get boring. Who could resist wearing white and blue in summer? I want all Gaultier's combination of navy models in my closet this year! For example this dress. Not only can I hide in it on the beach, but it will also serve me as a tent in case I can't find accomodation.
What's the first thing you think of when you look at this little model? It's perfect. The added shoulders in the 80s style are a great self-confidence booster, the color black makes you optically slim, and if you have a good adhesive tape that can keep your breasts in place, then this neckline with a tie in the middle is a great stimulant for all kinds of male erotic fantasies. I can totally see myself attending a business meeting in it.
Honestly - I wouldn't recommend this to my grandma, but you tell me, isn't it amazing? Sequins tend to be quite tasteless in various variations, but Paul is sensitive and wouldn't dress plus age models in anything tasteless. I myself would wear this for a Christmas party, but I'd pair it with a skirt. A mini skirt.
I didn't really get this, so I decided to take it as a lame joke. Who would voluntarily wear a condom? However, it doesn't offend me, after fifty years, Jean can afford to go a bit crazy.
