New Robotic Dog SpotMini: Do You Want Me?

The luxurious “robodog” Spot was first introduced to the public in 2016. However, it resembled a giraffe with a long neck rather than a dog. Spot may have looked a little weird but it could do quite a lot. It easily placed dirty dishes into the dishwasher, recognized what is waste and belongs to a trashcan and then threw it out. It also mastered walking on stairs and could avoid any obstacle. If it fell down, it used its long “neck” as a helping hand and picked itself up without problem.

The robodog came a long way!

The new SpotMini has a new design: it is much smaller and you can’t see its “insides”. It is luxuriously polished, not as grotesque as the original, and boasts a yellow color. Its movement has also improved – it is now much smoother. This clearly shows the huge advancement of the company towards its goal: developing an animal-inspired robot that can move and react to forces in the real world.

Coming soon...

The new video is really short and ends with the famous “coming soon”. However, we can only guess what this over-used phrase means. Will the robodog be sold in retail or will there only be a new video with more information? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Do you want me?

SpotMini is a small four-legged robot that will easily fit into your office or home. It weighs 30 kg and is truly universal – when charged, it can work for up to 90 minutes, depending on what it does. It is the quietest, most luxurious robot in the Boston Dynamic portfolio. It can handle objects, work in offices, homes or outside your house. So, what do you say, do you want it?
