While last year the Italian brand was dazzling with sexy cuts, crammed cleavages and exuberant mane, this year superficiality went aside. Celebrating the work of the Spanish painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso, the SS20 collection is such a spectacle that it is difficult to find a competition for it on Milan fashion week this year.
If you visit the Fendi, Giorgio Armani or Prada fashion show during the Milan Fashion Week, you know for sure that you will get a luxurious elegance that, let's just say, will not surprise you much. Moschino? That's different! The creative director of the brand, American fashion designer Jeremy Scott, regularly comes up with curious and playful shows where you never know in advance what to expect. And the SS20 collection? This is really no exception - on the contrary, it has exceeded our expectations again.
Several of Pablo Picasso's most famous works were shown on the runway. Bella Hadid portrays Harlequin in pink-blue checked boiler suit, daughter of Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber, is Girl with Mandolin, and a model inspired by Girl Before a Mirror, started the whole luxury fashion show.
Each outfit was a gem! There are so many perfect outfits in this collection that, with a few exceptions, we might want to have them all in our closet. It does not matter that for some of them there would be no occassion to wear at all. They have a drive and at least as a painting in the living room or study they would do well...
Other outfits from the SS20 collection, including a sexy skeleton suit, a gentle butterfly or a bathing suit for your next vacation, can be found in the gallery at the end of the article. .
Moschino is renowned for his eclectic colors and patterns, but this smells of Impressionism already! As if I saw Picasso embodied, right? A hard-to-wear outfit, although I thought the same of the Barbie collection and what a success it was. Anyway, I enjoy watching similar works of art on the world runway, but I can't really imagine to wear them in reality. Well, on purpose, what would be the reaction of people to someone who goes shopping like this. In recent years, most designers have focused on sustainable fashion, and this is more of a waste of material that will never be worn more than once.
The only "ready to wear" piece from the entire collection and I must say that for me thumbs up! I sincerely enjoy the unique cut and modern design of the classic "trench coat" and I can imagine going in it for a fashion week. The color is brilliantly enchanting, and that is precisely how a woman should feel in the outfits of similar designers, after spending a fortune on it.
Gigi Hadid is one of the few women on this planet who looks good in everything. That's why she's so respected and popular with all designers, I guess. But in this outfit she is like a painted mug. Simply put, it is good for Easter, but that's it. Moreover, I find that the cut of the pants does not flatter even her perfect figure, so this outfit is for me rather below average, because it was not surprising and if I were an Easter bunny, I might be offended by the price of the whole "costume". It is a good try, but don't be a victim of the fashion creations, because this is really not pretty. And it cannot be saved by any great makeup and hairstyling.
Pirates of the Caribbean no.5? All that is missing is a parrot on shoulder and a hook instead of hand. There is no need to investigate where the inspiration to create this model came from. Good for a masquerade if you want to go for a sexy pirate or Mandolin. However, for example, those shorts with a high seat and high heels are top. Material and pattern are also beautiful but why did someone make it into the pirate style is something I really do not understand. Not to mention that purple - gold is my favorite color combination. Well, let me not just criticize - the clutch bag is divine.
