Buckingham Palace has been a very happy place this week. On Monday, May 6 at 5:26 am, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their baby. The firstborn son weighs 3.26 kg. As per tradition, the birth announcement was placed on a luxury easel in front of Buckingham Palace.
Both mother and child are reported to be doing great. If you are interested in the name of the new prince, we’ll have to disappoint you. Nothing has been decided yet, names are typically chosen a few days after the birth. And if you'd like to see the happy couple with their baby, you'll have to wait a bit too. Unlike Kate, Meghan and Harry only allow their photographs to be taken after they’ve spent a few days on Windsor grounds.
Although the public was expecting the birth of the baby and everyone must have wanted to make the little boy or girl happy, the royal couple asked people to donate their gifts to non-profit organizations for children instead.
Meghan and Harry have received many congratulations on the birth of their son, both from the public and from famous personalities such as the Barack Obama family, George Cloony or Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Among the first well-wishers was British Prime Minister Theresa May and opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn.
