The year is 1966 and an atmosphere of victory and celebrations in the Ford stable dominate the town of Le Mans. The GT 40 completely dominated the circuit, captivated the spectators and took first place. This exceptional moment was the start of a successful string of wins, the Ford GT40 also winning Le Mans in 1967, 1968 and 1969.
After half a century, the Ford factory has come up with an anniversary edition of the new GT supercar, motivated to build on the model’s previous success. The Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition is clearly inspired by the race specials with reference to the number 2 on the bonnet and doors.
The overall look of the car is a foregone conclusion. Black dominates this luxury vehicle. The client can choose between matte and gloss.
The “shape” of the black Ford GT Heritage is livened up by silver stripes, aerodynamic accessories from carbon fibre and 20-inch alloys with a specific design. In the interior, we can find carbon fibre seats, upholstered in dark Ebony leather, luxury gold details, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, just like in the racing car from 1966, and blue seatbelts. There is of course also a serialised identification plate and features from the famous older race special are also included here.
This luxury car with 600 wild horses under the bonnet will be available to buy in 2017. But don’t think about it for too long as the number of this legendary cars manufactured in this series really is limited.
