After years of organising parties at the Imperial Spas, Moët & Chandon became an official partner of the 53rd KV IFF. The dress code for the evening was not “Elsa” (from the film Frozen), but some of the attendees seemed to understand it that way…
Simona Krainová:
The model, who always has perfect hair and makeup, attended the “Iceland Party” in a black dress that is already two years old. It is from the FALL 2016 READY-TO-WEAR collection by Vivienne Westwood. I know Simona really a degree of exclusivity, but she really failed in this case… And I have to say that the other attending ladies like Andrea Verešová and Jana Plodková really surpassed her. She must have been miffed…

DJ Lucca:
Lucie Dvořáková blew me away with her concept of the “Iceland Party”. Her seemingly frozen hairdo and the pure silver dress by Beata Rajská made her the prototype of the evening’s dress code. What’s more, you really need some guts for that type of hairdo… and it all turned out perfectly here!

Jana Doleželová:
The most famous pharmacist in the Czech Republic attended the party in a snow white dress by Petra Pilařová, which I think looks rather like an ordinary wedding dress for a simple ceremony. Nevertheless, it’s a million times better than the wannabe kimono she wore to the Unicredit party on the colonnade, so Jana gets a big thumbs up from me. We can finally see her fantastic curves, and the dress isn’t in the “aged youth” category. One shortcoming is the massive clips, which I would have replaced with drop earrings. And the icy white shade on the lips? The invitation didn’t say “frozen from the morgue” after all.

Andrea Verešová:
Andrea is known to be a bit of a magpie. She loves everything that sparkles. But to tell the truth, she didn’t surprise me at all with her final choice. It was obvious beforehand that she would give her “court” designer Jana Pištějová a fairly simple task… turn me into Elsa! What’s more, she actually managed! Her clever makeup artist Pavel Kortan did a great job with the softer makeup, so Andrea didn’t look overdone at all. Moreover, the dress is somewhat reminiscent of sparkling champagne bubbles.

Jana Plodková:
Jana, who is usually snuggly fitted into a dress, attended this party in a fluffy tulle dress in pure white by Odivi. The accessorised only with silver strappy heels by Jimmy Choo, a subtle pink clutch by Valextrs, a silver spiral bracelet and deep bordeaux lipstick. In my opinion, the gelled up 1920 hairdo and the said dark lipstick are the ideal accessories for such a minimalist dress. Her overall look matched the dress code perfectly, which is why I’ve given her one of the highest scores of all.

Kateřina Kaira Hrachovcová:
Ever the wild rebel, Kaira attended the party in a white and gold gown designed by her friend Klára Nademlýnská, which transformed her into an ancient Roman lady of the otherwise “icy” evening. The look was underscored by a spiral bracelet in ancient Roman style by Gismondi 1754. Libor Šula also did a good job with his twisted bun. Although it doesn’t really fit into the theme of the evening, I have to give this lady a higher score for everything… there is no alternative!

Hana Vagnerová:
Hana seemed a bit rushed to me this time. Both her hair and her choice of gown by Odivi. You know how it is. You get home from a Barry Levinson lecture in the nick of time, full of impressions, and then you have about 20 minutes to prepare for one of the biggest parties in Karlovy Vary. So the slightly messy Hana throws on something like a giant, pointless men’s shirt, straps on heels by Tezyo and grabs a mega clutch by Ether, which can contain even the leftover sandwich from the lecture. In my opinion, the whole creation is salvaged only by her brilliant smile and the spark in her eyes… Otherwise, it’s complete chaos.

Kateřina Sokolová:
Unfortunately, the flood of silver thread by Vivienne Westwood did not make Kateřina into the queen of the night. It was a mistake. A nice but entirely ill-fitting dress on a beautiful young woman, who in other circumstances would look fantastic in anything but this. Unfortunately, Kate’s bordeaux outfit from the BMW Cartec party was about a billion percent better than this silver whatsit. Why didn’t she stick to the same idea? Oh well. Maybe she’ll find something better next time…

Taťána Makarenko:
Currently the top boss of the domestic MISS competition, Taťána attended the party in a bright orange dress by Natali Ruden. The cut of the top reminds a bit of a luxurious one-piece bathing suite, and I honestly don’t understand how it relates to the theme of the event. Nevertheless, the gown fit her well and sold her perfect figure. However, I would opt for something more elegant next time.
