The young and talented designer, Jiří Kalfař presented his AW 18/19 collection in London. At this opportunity he invited to the catwalk the queen of modelling, Pavlína Pořízková; the beauty and originality of certain models literally took your breath away!
The AW 18/19 collection is inspired by the prosperous Victorian period. Playful and original, such are the collections of the young designer and the current one is no exception! At the introduction of the show, violoncellist, Terezie Kovalová appeared in a black gown; she then accompanied the luxurious evening by her play. The fashion show itself was opened up by Ukrainian Alina Baikova in an absolutely stunning model, wearing a bordeaux-coloured fur and a black gown with cutouts and a high vent.
The collection is formed by midi, mini and maxi-length pieces. The assortment includes evening dresses, corsets, wide as well as narrow skirts, trousers or for example coats. Some of the models are decorated with luxurious translucent fabrics, lace, sequins and bold collars. The dominant colours are undoubtedly royal blue and gold. One such gold gown was also worn by Pavlína Pořízková.
The last piece from the AW 18/19 collection was a luxurious golden gown, showcased by the experienced supermodel, Pavlína Pořízková. She presented the model with a high level of professionalism, but at the same time showed her emotions. During the show she waved elegantly, did not stint on her smiles and at the end she amicably took her colleague models by hand. The charming beauty originally from the Czech Republic thus brought to the catwalk professionalism with a human face.
The young designer luxuriously combines clean lines with the oversized look, using high-quality natural materials and focusing on minimalist details. The hallmark is timelessness and originality. And we really like this style!
In our country a basically unknown designer, Jiří Kalfař (great pity) reaps abroad the fruit of the Czech national term "golden Czech hands". Yes, even in such a small country are born such vastly talented people! I am now greatly proud and there is a reason to be.
The collection in Victorian style absolutely amazed me! In particular the model worn by Alina Baikova. The upturned collar and the totally refined and original covering of breasts took my breath away! Black in combination with burgundy and moreover the harmonious combination of the cut and the corset. Simply….a sight to behold! This is seriously a dress that I would have proudly worn even to the most snobbish party EVER!
Overall, I looking at the show as a whole I feel more like looking at haute couture of brands such as Christian Dior or Chanel: really world-class! So if you are looking for something extravagant and are not afraid of revolutionary lines, this is as if it´s been made for you!
