Toyota's more luxurious brother, Lexus, is known as a manufacturer of limousines or the nicer hybrid cars among us common people. However, the carmaker has recently come up with something truly amazing! The Japanese are known for always being one step ahead, and this time they've built a boat under the leadership of Lexus - a yacht, to be more specific. One that could easily compete with the finest yachts in Monaco or St. Tropez.
The Japanese have been talking about it for about two years now, and they've quickly moved from words to deeds. Back then it all looked great on paper, however, the serial version is going into production right now. Nearly twenty meters long, the yacht was named LY 650.
said Akio Toyota, president of Toyota.
As far as the interior is concerned, the yacht leaves not only the luxuriously furnished Prague apartments in Pařížská Street, but also the BEST LS limousine that Lexus has been boasting with until recently far behind. Inside you will find wood and flawless luxury materials, designed by the Italian studio Nuvolari Lenard.
The yacht has three decks including the open bridge and the crew can enjoy the comfort of three spacious cabins with private bathrooms. Also preset are a number of electronic systems, most of which can be controlled using a smartphone.
The technique, the building itself, is the work of professionals from Marquis Yachts from Wisconsin. The boat boasts two Volvo engines with a displacement of 12.8 liters and a power of 1350 hp. The hull was made of a composite material consisting of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and laminate. As a result, the hull should be stronger and at the same time lighter than in case of ships with a hull made of standard laminate only.
