The legendary Hotel Costes in Paris
A place which sets the trends
The Parisian Hôtel Costes is located at 239 Rue Saint Honoré and is certainly one of the most famous hotels here thanks to its renowned bar and so-called courtyard café. The hotel was commissioned by the brothers Jean-Louis and Gilbert Costes, entrusting the job to the designer and interior architect Jacques Garcia in 1991. The luxury hotel is now known as a residence boasting wealth and opulent features, which was the clear intention of the designer.
Interior and facilities
Glossy velvet, filtered light, a specific ubiquitous fragrance, energy in every detail, constantly changing guests – these are all distinctive luxury features of Hotel Costes. Visiting a gallery, lazing around on the garden terrace, drinking a cup of tea by the fireplace, swimming in the pool and going on until the early hours of the morning listening to a DJ set in the local bar – these some of the attractive activities which you absolutely must enjoy during your stay.
Lounge music
The renowned bar in Hotel Costes mentioned earlier has in particular become famous thanks to the musical compilations by the DJ Stéphane Pompougnac. The hotel regularly releases records with luxury compilations which you can buy right in the hotel. The video below offers a taster of lounge music directly from the hotel bar in Costes. The hotel is also home to the luxury Boutique Costes - IUNX with a collection of its own fragrances created by the famous Olivia Giacobetti. You will also find here Roses Costes, a florist where they only sell roses and offer bouquets for every occasion.
Street Mapping right on the walls of the hotel
Paris is one of the few cities where courting couples can kiss wherever they like: in the streets, on the pavement, on a bench in the park – you can see lovers young and old everywhere. That is not the norm elsewhere in the world. As a way to fight back against those who hate love and freedom, the street artist Julien Nonnon created street mapping which he projects onto Parisian walls. The projected works are in particular photographs of people kissing and are a manifesto for love, freedom and the city of lights.
