Jean-Michel Basquiat: from a homeless person to one of the most popular artists

Visiting the Paris exhibition of works of Jean-Michela Basquiat is a major event for art enthusiasts, since you won´t encounter them here, unlike the creative works of Egon Schiele. Moreover, at the Louis Vuitton Foundation his works take up four floors and an area of 2,500 m2; while they have never been exhibited in Europe!

Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988), an incredibly talented American artist, whose works are sold for considerable sums of money at the beginning of his career certainly have not dreamt of his starry future. That was largely thanks to legendary artist, Andy Warhol, who had noticed his immense talent and provided him with the needed incentive for his creation which led him to win his place in the sun.

After few years this basically unemployed unknown man turned to an artist selling his paintings for 25,000 US dollars. His work always referred to racism, slavery and the street scene of the 80's and ultimately had a great influence on hip-hop culture.
