We introduce to you illustrator Christophe Niemann, whose luxurious drawings reflect playfulness and seemingly an incompatible merger. In a very nonviolent but completely understandable way, in his sketches and drawings he also points to the problems of today’s civilisation.
Christoph Niemann is a highly acclaimed artist who has talent and imagination in his blood. Everyone who worked with him was always convinced. His brilliant work appeared on the covers of The New Yorker, WIRED and The New York Times Magazine. He regularly receives a variety of prestigious awards and his corporate clients include, for example, Google, St. Moritz and The Museum of Modern Art. He has worked on behalf of the Olympic Games in London and also for the Venice Art Biennale and he is the artist of the drawings for the New York City Marathon which he also attended himself. He is also a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and the author of many luxurious books for both children and adults.
The author asserts that whenever something catches his eye during one of his walks, he always takes a picture with his phone and then creates an illustration at home or in a hotel room. For his work, he needs a totally flat and level desk and a form of tranquillity that he does not find directly at the “scene” at which he does not have enough time to create illustrations.
Sunday Sketches: these constitute a particularly imaginative series of drawings that are complemented by physical products and daily necessities. It is really remarkable to think about through what kind of eyes the artist is looking at the world around him. When you see his works in our gallery, try to look around by yourself. Maybe you will start to perceive the world around you a little differently. We wish you a high level of inspiration!
