The name beginning with the letter G isn’t the only thing that the brands Giorgio Armani Privé, Giambattista Valli and Givenchy have in common. All of these three brands were exceptional in presenting luxury fashion at the Paris Fashion Week full of stylish women’s outfits truly worthy of the label Haute Couture. However, which was at fulfilling the task of Haute Couture the absolute best?
Luxury. That’s the impression we got from the collection Armani Privé, which combines the most exclusive materials and traditional styles together with current trends. If you want to turn into a stylish French lady within minutes, this is how you would do it!
The Italian fashion brand fulfilled our expectations again at the Haute Couture Spring 2019, and presented a divine outfit, which we absolutely adore – an airy dress from tulle. The dress is complemented with a classic mini dress, or an untraditional mini with a long train. Feminine and beautiful. The other half, which consists of a black overall with a bow à la Minnie isn’t as alluring.
This time Givenchy decided to run off into all directions. It presented luxury evening dresses, elegant black trousers in combination with a white blouse and a max-size decoration on the back, crop tops with feathers or with bits of latex! And it’s precisely the latex, which somehow bothered us in the Haute Couture Spring 2019 collection. The combination of the beautiful dress from chiffon with frills gives an unnecessarily tawdry impression.
If it wasn’t for the latex, everything could have turned out differently. However, due to it, the brand Givenchy lost straight out, and leaves with a bronze medal. Giambattista Valli got half way there, but only with great promise for the next year. The collection by Giorgio Armani shines in every direction, therefore we’re giving it a deserved gold medal!
When it comes to choosing the absolute winner, it isn’t as easy as it may seem at first glance. Even though, I myself have a favourite!
First, I’d like to begin with the weakest link. That was surprisingly Givenchy. The mistake was probably in their obsession with space-engulfing, bold dresses. Specifically, I mean the lemon yellow dress, where there is a combination of lace with some sort of ‘curtain’. The overall selection of coarser laces even on the other dresses, wasn’t such a good choice either...
Second place was taken by Giambattista Valli. It isn’t mainstream, and overall the whole romantic concept had a good impact on me during these dull winter days. I was most taken by the airy cream dress with a silk bow at the waist. It was as if made for Cinderella! And which one of us would resist that? What I couldn’t get my head around, however, were the Turkish hats on the heads of the models. Seriously bizarre!
And the best for last: Exceptional job of the Armani brand. When I saw the shiny black corset overall, I was under a spell! It is perfect for a woman vamp, who isn’t afraid of attention, but who on the contrary, revels in it. It is soo sexy!!! I also can’t forget the fine wedding dress with a huge veil. As they say, there is strength in simplicity. Only the hat needs a little rounding off on the edges... we wouldn’t want to look like the innocent brides from the Ku-Klux-Klan.
