Paul Millet is a bold Frenchman, whose passions are mountains, skis, travel and freeride skiing.

The Luxury named Freedom

33-year old Paul Millet’s hobby was fulfilling his life so well that it became his job. During the winter he descends high mountains off-piste and records it on his camera. Then he provides his videos to the well-known sports brand Salomon. Thereby he brings viewers authentic, unique videos, which mostly come from Chamonix in France, the area in which he undertook all the possible freeride routes. He is also devoted to extreme descents of majestic mountains on a bike, which he also records. When watching the videos that he recorded the audience becomes breathless.

In addition he acts as an instructor of skiing in the luxury resort of Chamonix, which is another source of his earnings. Once the winter is over, he packs up his things and heads off to travel the world and his long and adventurous vacation has begun. Do not imagine, however, that this includes any luxury in first class hotels. That somehow does not mesh with his character nor with his extremist spirit.

Many Forms of Luxurious Life

The prerequisites for such a lifestyle are combining a free spirit with courage. People who need their life to be cushioned and to build a career and enjoy security would probably seriously suffer from experiencing this free life. The word “luxury” can mean something different for everybody, however. One will see material advantage in it, while another will enjoy the freedom and the opportunity to find the purpose of life in his or her hobby. Deciding what to call a luxury is up to each one of us individually.
