EUTOPIE Perfume Designer Elodie Pollet: Prague, that’s the scent of lilac!
Charismatic Frenchwoman Elodie Pollet is the founder of the luxury perfume brand EUTOPIE, for which she draws inspiration from her travels around the world. EUTOPIE No.11 is a romantic perfume with a lilac fragrance, which was brought to life thanks to her stay in Prague, where she’s been living since February 2017. The main face of this perfume from the year 2018 is Aňa Geislerová.
In an interview with LP-Life.cz, Elodie Pollet reveals how she likes living here, what she loves about Prague, how she celebrates May Day and why her Prague-inspired perfume smells of lilac.
What is your favorite place in Prague?
I love Malá Strana and Petřín. There are very beautiful sights here and I love history. I also like to take walks along the river Vltava.
What place in Prague do you consider the most romantic?
Definitely Petřín. I like the tradition of laying flowers at the foot of the statue of Karel Hynek Mácha on Petřín Hill on May 1. So romantic!
What inspired you to design a perfume here in Prague?
I moved here in February when it was very cold and snowing. But then spring came and I was blown away by the flowers of lilac that could be seen all over Prague and also in my garden. Therefore, the blooming plants in Prague's parks are the main scent I have connected with Prague, especially the smell of lilacs!
What is the main ingredient of the luxury EUTOPIE Perfume. 11 and what kind of women is it intended for?
Lilac of course! The fragrance is intended for all romantically inclined women and is ideal for a date night ;)
Do you celebrate May Day in France, like we do here?
On May Day we give our loved ones lilies-of-the-valley.
Do you kiss under a cherry tree in blossom when you happen to be in Prague on May 1?
Yes, of course!
