Elie Saab presented its new collection of high-end tailoring at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. The fashion show was opened up by a midnight-black gown with a striking decoration in the area of the décolletage, featuring pants and a train. Right from the start it was clear that the brand has this time round also included more formal outfits into the line.
The reason why women love this talented designer throughout the world is obvious. Elie Saab creates noble models, radiating as they always do, luxury, femininity, beauty, sensuality and elegance. There is regularly involved a magnificent palette of brilliant colours, including nude or tones of precious stones.
The luxurious gowns of cool tones and shimmer from the AW 2018 would look great at the Carlsbad Moët party at which Czech stars recently showed off in the style of "Frozen". Had the collection been available at that time, it is unlikely that it would have appeared there. Czech beauties have not yet registered this brand, which is a great pity.
Compared to the collection of haute couture SS 2018 Elie Saab abandoned feathers, which were replaces by massive flowers. 3D embroidery adorns luxury dresses as well as stylish elegant suits. The cutting edge elegance is newly accompanied by shoulder pads, again becoming a hit!
In the creation of the collection, the designer was inter alia inspired by artist Antoni Gaudí. The luxurious brocade cloak or evening gowns in the shades of garnet, emerald, amethyst or grey/white gown with ruffles - these reflected the unique personality with emphasis on detail of Antoni Gaudí.
If a day comes when Elie Saab designs something kitschy, ugly, or perhaps unwearable, it will probably go down in fashion history textbooks. That´s because the presentations are consistently of top quality and many a woman would kill for these gowns!
The most popular show that one wants to be present to in Paris! Because one jewel will be seen after another? The answer is perhaps completely obvious - Elie Saab!!! This designer was simply born to live for fashion, overshadowing with absolute ease such greats like Chanel or Louis Vuitton.
The absolute jewel of the entire haute couture is definitely the silver-nude gown supplemented by a pierced veil reminiscent of a Russian headband worthy only of empresses. This gown literally took my breath away! I am really lost for words…surely every woman would like to get married in something like that (I most definitely would!!!). And the price tag? If you lust after such a dress, reach deep into your pocket, for you will require 300 000 dollars...or 6.6 million crowns. In this light, it seems that one needs to find some Onassis for a husband.
My other favourites include a gown that unusually reveals the legs and has one of the most precisely-made corsets of all. Yes, we are talking here about that gold-pearl, strapless corset. And where would one wear something like that? Unfortunately, it don´t think Prague offers a suitable venue ... this model seems more suitable for some champagne party in the centre of Monaco.
