Talented designer Petra Ptáčková presented very unusual models during Prague Fashion Week. The collections we have seen in the past were creative, but they always included deluxe items that could be worn in normal life. But don’t expect this of the FW 18 collection. There are only a few models and it is even harder to find something wearable among them.
Petra Ptáčková is a Czech designer who has managed to conquer the world with her deluxe models. It was at MBPFW in 2014 that a buyer from the Barcelona Doshaburi boutique contacted her and offered a partnership. We can credit her success to a number of factors: magically artistic aesthetics, in the spirit of which she creates her work, her natural talent and also visits to a prestigious French school where she learnt manual “couture” techniques.
In her most recent FW18 collection Petra Ptáčková also created items that are either maximally minimalistic or full of deluxe creative art. This is also why you can find jackets, tops, blazers, trousers and accessories in one or a maximum of two shades and also models with playful colours and distinctive patterns in this collection.
The purpose of Fashion Week is not to present wearable fashion, that is only the fervent desire of us mortals, but to let designers express themselves absolutely freely. Petra Ptáčková used the extravagant FW18 collection to draw closer to a world in which designers overtake each other in creativity, and has surpassed herself.
In her FW 18 collection Petra Ptáčková showed what real absolutely unbearable fashion looks like. I am truly sorry for her if that is all she can come up with. And I also don’t understand the selection procedure for the MBPFW. How can they even include a collection like this in the programme? Well, never mind, items like this are apparently called art nowadays...
And why present a show on a staircase? Possibly so that everyone gets out right afterwards! If you are interested in buying tickets for Prague Fashion Week, prepare 4 – 10 thousand Crowns. And for this amount you get to see such terrible things?! I am sure that viewers wanted to the complaints ledger while Petra Ptáčková’s show was still in progress...
