Designer Carlo Colombo: Star Association with Bentley, Fendi, Poliform
The young talent grew into world format star
The door of boundless opportunities opened for Colombo in 1991 during his studies at the Polytechnic University in Milan. There he entered into a contract with Giulio Cappellini (art director of the designer firm, Cappellini). His work was initially focused on design of interior products, gradually extending to the construction sector in Italy as well as abroad.
In 1992 Giulio designed his first iconic design: the luxury bed Kyoto, which was in the same year presented at the Salone de Mobile in Milan. For Carlo Colombo this opened up new possibilities of self-fulfilment. One could say that this bed shot him into the design "heaven".
Today, in addition to design of luxury goods and furniture, he takes care of strategy and marketing on behalf of businesses, developing graphic projects and organising exhibitions, working as a consultant and art director. One of his greatest achievements is considered the winning of design competition for the multifunctional building in Abu-Dhabi.
Carlo Colombo is engaged as a designer of hundreds of projects in cooperation with leading companies within the industry; in particular: Poliform, Bentley Home, Antonio Lupi, Fendi, Arflex, Cappellini, Franke, Poltrona Frau, Artemide, Trussardi Casa, Mood, Flou and others.
Partnership with Fendi and Poliform
Cooperation with the Poliform brands is bearing fruit. Together with them Carlo Colombo influenced design of kitchens, having come up with an incredibly innovative design of kitchen space. In the world of bedrooms the trend is now set for a change by his bed UNO.
Fendi is a label that is not in need of presentation. Mutual cooperation with the designer created furniture constructed for modern elegant houses, with inspiration having been drawn in Milan. The plans for this brand are characteristic by comfortable luxury, seasoned with discretion and allure.
Bentley Home - new approach to luxurious furniture
The significant design achievement here is derived from association of Bentley and Carlo Colombo; full of prestige and innovation. Inspired by the excellent finish and interior design of Bentley cars, that is the new collection Bentley Home by Carlo Colombo, being an example of British elegance with a hint of genuine driver´s spirit. Bentley Home focuses on metals, veneer, leather and glass. Here we can mention for example Kensington, an exclusive modular sofa of rectangle shape. The construction, lightweight and balanced, is enriched by a variant with leather structure or shiny finish.
The unique Chair 784 as work of art
The artistic Chair 784 contains all the elements of the work of Carlo Colombo: great creativity in design, attention to the use of material and maximum visual interpretation. The designer makes a reference here to the close link between the world of art and design. A chair is exceptional by its winding, almost seductive ergonomics. Only 9 specimens we made and it is surprisingly made of aluminium.

Carlo Colombo accentuated not only Asian women as a source of inspiration for his luxury furnishings. He was influenced by Asian style as a whole, its simplicity and elegance. Proof of this is for example the beautiful sofa Victoria notable by its gentleness and luxurious style. From the profile a slight bend is discernible, lending the sofa unmistakable charm.
