The Czech Blog Awards Have a Winner: Nikol Štíbrová Steamrolled Leoš Mareš!
The luxurious announcement of the best and most followed bloggers in 2017 took place in the Hilton Hotel on 18 November. This year, the online voting for the Czech Blog Awards ended with good results for Kovy and the young Anna Šulcová. However, all of the contenders for the awards were steamrolled by the Instagram account of Nikol Štíbrová.
Instagram as the ruler of social networks
Social networks have changed the world, and this is also true in the Czech Republic. That is also demonstrated by the luxurious fifth year of the Czech Blog Awards, which ended with quite a surprise. The biggest hit of this year’s ceremony was Instagram, a category that many fans had long been asking for.
Nikol Štíbrová steamrolled Leoš Mareš
The nominees included Leoš Mareš, Shopaholic Nicol, Patricie Solaříková and a.n.d.u.l.a. But in the end, the clear winner was Nikol Štíbrová. “I was so shocked. I don’t want to sound lame or anything, but I’m pretty sure that my performance on the stage was very lame. I really didn’t expect to beat Leoš Mareš and Shopaholic Nicol. I’d like to thank all of my fans for their support and votes,” Nikol said right after the award ceremony. Nikol is currently on maternity leave and views Instagram mostly as a hobby and fun pastime.
Famous host Leoš Mareš took the loss in the Instagram category with a smile; after all, his account on the social networks remains one of the most popular ones and can boast nearly half a million followers. Furthermore, Leoš Mareš currently has two sold out concerts to look forward to, so he’s probably focusing on his musical performance rather than on photos.
“I’m very happy that fans are interested in my concerts. That’s why I added two O2 arenas in addition to the performance in Karlín,” said Mareš.
The award for the best female videoblogger of the year went to nineteen year old Ana Šulcová, who entertainers her fans with luxurious videos from everyday life. She triumphed over last year’s winner Shopaholic Nicol. The male videoblogger of the year also has a winner, specifically Karel Kovář (or “Kovy”), who also won in this category last year.
“My secret is that I do my best to make my followers smile,” commented Kovy, who is currently in the process of publishing his own book titled “Ovšem Kovy”.
The best Beauty blogger of the year was Petra Lovely Hair, who dethroned last year’s winner GetTheLouk. Sisters Nicole and Lucie from the A Cup of Style blog became fashion bloggers of the year for the fifth time in a row. The “Cosmo discovery” category was won by Kristýna Dolejšová for “Za normální holky”.
Dominik Landsman is the blogger of the year for the second time in a row
Dominik Landsman was voted the blogger of the year for the second time in a row; his blog is called “Deníček moderního fotra”. “I’m happy that my win offers a bit of hope also to less beautiful people, showing that we too can have a bit of success in life…” said the winner after receiving the award.
Ondra Urban, Zorka Hejdová and Ondra Vodný hosted the whole luxurious event – which was also aired live on the Óčko TV channel. Leoš Mareš, Pavel Callta and Dara Rolins performed on stage.
