Celebration of 115 years of Harley-Davidson Culminated by a Ride through Prague!
Heavy engines thunder in the streets, you can meet hard-boiled, tattoo-covered, bearded guys and beautiful tough women by their side. Harley-Davidson celebrates 115 years of existence and the organisers chose our capital to hold this celebration. We are honoured!
Holešovice surrounded by tough bikers!
The centre of all Harley happening is the Holešovice fair ground. The roads are closed for cars as well as trams, everywhere are only beautiful, powerful motorbikes. Although I am no great fan, I shiver from the excitement of it. I am suddenly proud of our capital, and Bohemia, that such a giant event may be successfully organised here. There are bikers here from around the whole world, attractive guys and Harley-Davidson enthusiasts wherever you look!
I do not what does it, but even if you set off for Holešovice alone, you don´t feel lonely. And even if you are not wearing a leather jacket (I am not) and high boots (I am wearing sandals) I somehow feel comfortable in the atmosphere. The bikers radiate special energy and the more there are, the stronger it is.
Until Sunday at the fair ground you will be able to see a lot of beautiful Harley-Davidson motorbikes; from the oldest models up to the most up-to-date ones. They are like polished jewels and instigate unbelievable admiration. In the area there are several stages with music definitely harder than at Okoř castle festival.
Ride through Prague - you will not see anything like it any time soon!
The exhibition grounds and the events there is one thing, but the real thing starts the moment when thousands of tattooed bikers (and women bikers) set off on their machines for a ride in the streets. From Letná via Václav Square, to Karlovo Square, past the Dancin House, along the bank of Vltava River to Rudolfinum, across the river to Malá Strana, up to Hradčany and back to Letná - that was the route on Saturday morning. On Sunday the whole event is to end and Prague will revert to its usual tracks, full of normal tourists and working Prague dwellers. For me, this weekend with its unforgettable atmosphere is to remain fresh in my memory and I think that the sounds of hard rock and running, powerful engines will sound in my ears for some time to come!
