Did you know that this Christmas classic has been entertaining the viewers for seventeen long years already? Love Actually was filmed in 2003 and has been building an ever-growing audience since. Back then, the Lord of the Rings saga with The Return of the King was extremely successful in theaters, younger audiences loved Finding Nemo, and Johnny Depp excelled as Jack Sparrow in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
TOP 2 a.k.a. Bilbo Baggins in a sex scene
Can you recall the duo of actors, who shot spicy scenes for adults in the film? Did you know that the male protagonist John is the British actor Martin Freeman? You probably know him because of his iconic role as Bilbo Baggins in the film adaptation of The Hobbit, for which he became famous a few years later.
TOP 3 a.k.a. The Flip Side of Love
The film touches on many forms of love. Unfortunately, infidelity is part of it from time to time. Emma Thompson had to deal with it within her part. And she portrayed the situation so well that there wasn't a dry eye left in the house. In an interview with The Telegraph in 2018, the actress said that she had been swallowed up by her own emotions, which she was experiencing in her personal life, when her husband Kenneth Branagh began to cheat on her.

TOP 4 a.k.a. Papers drowned in a puddle
Do you remember the lake into which Colin Firth's, aka Jamie's, papers fell? Jamie's "future" girlfriend willingly ran for them, and of course, Jamie followed. The two then swam together in the lake, collecting the strewn papers. One would expect the "lake" to be really deep, but wonder of wonders, it was only thirty centimeters deep! In reality, both actors were kneeling during the scene, pretending to swim.
TOP 5 a.k.a. No two teenagers are alike
Can you recall the cute little schoolboy Sam, played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster, who experienced his first love in the film when he fell for his classmate Joanna? Try to picture him for a moment. And next to him, remember the character of Keira Knightley alias Juliet, who was getting married in a different storyline of the film. It may come to you as a shock, but both actors were teenagers during the filming. The actress was 18 years old back then and Thomas, who played a schoolboy, was only five years younger!

We will stay with the cute Sam for a bit longer, because you may not have known that he had to learn to play the drums as a part of his role in which he wanted to impress his love. And he became pretty good at it!

TOP 7 a.k.a. Wizards among Muggles
In one particular scene, Hugh Grant, in his role of the Prime Minister, talks about traditional British products and doesn't forget to mention the already world-famous Harry Potter. What's interesting is that as many as three actors from the cast of Love Actually had also starred in Harry Potter movies. Alan Rickman will always be remembered for his renowned role of Professor Snape, Emma Thompson played Professor Trelawney in the film about Harry, and Bill Nighy played Minister Scrimgeour. Grant himself could have played one of the roles in the series about the bespectacled wizard, too. He could have shined in the Chamber of Secrets as Professor Gilderoy Lockhart. In the end, however, he had rejected the role due to scheduling conflicts.
