The currently very popular Canadian music band Arcade Fire will perform in Prague. Fans can expect a deluxe concert at the O2 Arena on 15 June. This will be the first time that this band will visit the Czech Republic.
Their new album Everything Now has captivated the music world and songs from this album will also be performed during the eagerly expected concert. But Arcade Fire also has many excellent older hits up its sleeve, because it has been among the best-known and most popular Canadian bands for 20 years.
The band originated in 2001 in Montreal and its music is very unique. Although it is frequently classified as a rock and pop band, you can also hear elements of punk, chanson and other styles in its songs. The band’s members are very musically talented and the portfolio of its styles is constantly expanding, which is also why it has fans worldwide.
The band’s first album Funeral from 2004 registered great success and was even nominated for a Grammy award in the Vest Alternative Album category. It was thanks to this excellent album that the entire world knows about this band. At the time the album was released TIME magazine said that Canada should be grateful to this album, because it put Canada back on the “world music map”.
Arcade Fire has released a total of 5 albums. The band has received a Grammy Award (Album of the Year – Suburbs 2010) and a Brit Award (International Band and International Album – Suburbs, 2011). The band has a total of 6 members: husband and wife Win Butler and Will Butler, Régine Chassagne, Jeremy Gara, Tim Kingsburry and Richard Reed Parry.
