You will enjoy an amazing experience if you visit this deluxe exhibition, which presents selected items from years gone by from its collections. You can find hidden stories about major Czechoslovak companies and leading figures of Czechoslovak technology and industry at this exhibition, which will last until 29 September 2019 and is based on presentation of selected topics – companies, products, figures and other phenomena of Czechoslovak industrial and technical development in the period between 1918 and 1992.

A Czech rarity among sewing machines: the Halvena machine by the Lada Company
The number of sold machines is proof of the success of this legendary household helper - the Halvena. Under the conditions at the time the machine’s success constituted a real boom. Up to 100,000 of these sewing machines were sold a year! Unfortunately production of these household appliances was stopped in Czechoslovakia in 1972.
Remington Z16 office typewriter
Production of this office typewriter officially began between 1946 and 1948. Even though the contract with the Remington Company was signed in 1932, actual manufacture was suspended at the orders of the German Occupying Government, but was renewed at a later date. One very interesting fact is that production of these machines initially began at Zbrojovka Brno (an arms factory) using components imported from the American manufacturer.
ESA REX electric vacuum cleaner
This appliance was made in Hlinsko over a period of 10 years between 1948 and 1958. This beautifully designed vacuum cleaner was the pride and joy of Czechoslovak households at the time. The elongated shape with a handle at the top was not only practical, but also nicely designed. The logo of the brand, which is reminiscent of wing, was a bold element on both sides of this appliance.
A Remoska (portable oven) was a must-have for every household
It was capable of baking or roasting a range of dishes, from French potatoes and baked pasta, to bread pudding-type desserts and more. The deluxe Remoska was originally invented by Czech Oldřich Homula and was owned by the REMOS enterprise.
Premalux sunlamp
This deluxe product was made in Czechoslovakia between 1950 and 1959. Anyone who wanted to warm themselves, improve their health or even get a light tan, used a Premalux!
The exhibition presents not only the successes of Czechoslovak industry but also its failures!
This exhibition presents not only high-quality products, which were exported abroad, but also products that were technically out-dated, but were still manufactured and frequently became a part of every-day life, which makes this exhibition different to most similar exhibitions.
Most of the exhibits are original items from the collections of the NTM.
