There has been a direct flight connection between Prague and Dubai for 8 years. From 1. July another daily connection, by Emirates company, is to be added to this route.
"From the start of our first flight on this route we have encounter a continuously increasing demand, demonstrating that the Czechs do value travel adventures with Emirates," says Bořivoj Trejbal, Country Manager Emirates for the Czech Republic.

Three luxury jubilees were mentioned during the glorious evening. Actress Bára Munzarová congratulated her parents, Jana Hlaváčová and Luděk Munzar. Tereza Kostková, didn't forget her father, Petr Kostka, who also won the award for lifelong artistry for his 80th birthday.
"I'm honored and thank you for remembering me," Kostka said when accepting the luxurious award.
Singer, actor and dancer Jiří Korn, who feels more like a singer than an actor, was also honored for lifelong artistry in musicals.
"It's a great honor for me. I will display my award and it will definitely collect dust, but I don't mind," Korn said wryly.
Bohuslav Šulc, whose home theater became the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theater, won a Thalia for artistry in the puppet theater. "I mustn't forget to especially thank my colleagues Josef Skup and Miloš Kirschner," Šulc said in his acceptance speech. The founder of Černé divadlo (Black Theater), Jiří Srnec, also didn't go home empty-handed and received the collegium award. "It was a shock for the audience because we came up with a completely new style of stage poetics, which is probably why it was so successful," he said regarding the theater that captivated the entire world.

The awards for best acting performances in drama productions in 2017 were received by actors Tereza Dočkalová and Daniel Bambas. The ballet category was dominated by Nikola Márová and Ondřej Vinklát. Maida Hundelingová and Svatopluk Sem took home awards for their performances in opera.
Theater awards
These are awarded first and foremost for outstanding artistic performances in the past year. They are awarded annually to performers in four disciplines: in drama, in opera, in ballet, pantomime or another dance-dramatic genre, and musical, operetta or other musical-dramatic genre.
The laureates of the Thalia awards are decided on by the Thalia Awards Collegium, appointed by the Presidium of the Actors Association. The members of the Collegium choose from the final nominations of four professional panels of judges by secret ballot. They decide on the basis of their own viewing experiences from performances by the artists who made it to the shortlist. With the assistance of a notary, the envelopes with the votes of the members of the Collegium are opened on the day of the awards ceremony. In the case of a tie, the vote of the President of the Collegium is decisive. The Collegium may, with the approval of the Presidium of the AA, also award the Collegium Award for an Outstanding Artistic Contribution to Czech Theater Art.
In addition to the annual awards, there are also awards for lifelong artistry in all four of the aforementioned categories, as well as puppet theater. The Presidium of the Actors Association, chaired by Mgr. et Mgr. Ondřej Kepka, decides on these awards. The Presidium also determines the Thalia award winner for a dramatic actor under 33.
