The next show at this year's Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week belonged to young designer Zoltán Tóth from Slovakia. Let's have a look together at how the show went, which celebrities could be spotted in the audience and what our Fashion Upstream thinks about his new collection!
Designer with Slovak roots Zoltán Tóth presented his SS21 collection to the world in a really big style. Accompanied by lighting effects and dramatic music, his models gave a very energetic and youthful impression. Just like last year, he managed to attract enormous attention with his show. However, the question remains whether it was the good kind of attention...
Zoltán is definitely not one of the designers who fear creating various color combinations. Quite on the contrary. His new collection boasts a myriad of colors and its dominant shade is distinctive green. But since I don't wear very colorful clothes myself and I like to make safe bets, I came to enjoy this black, minimalist model, complemented with a black waist belt. In my opinion, it gives the outfit finesse and emphasizes feminine curves. Black will simply never go out of style and Zoltán pulled this off marvelously!

This combination of a white over-size blouse, a pink skirt and green shoes, however, looks to me about as refined as when "Doggie and Moggie were making a cake". This is a no for me. Although the models are made of a light material and a woman can certainly feel good in them, I would never wear this combination, and I say that while fully aware of all the fashion faux-pas I've made in the past. I don't like the new "upgrade" of the iconic Levi's jeans. This bell-bottom pantskirt (not sure how to call this thing), morever paired with a pink top and green shoes, looks very tacky. Besides, I'm firmly convinced you need to have a perfect figure for this outfit. Or a ton of courage.

Not great, not terrible
White is the color of purity, elegance and sophistication. However, I'm not entirely sure what to think about the white models in Zoltán's collection. Although overall, the collection looked very airy, timeless and occasionally futuristic, if I were to choose a single piece to wear, for example this blouse, I'm not sure if I could find one.

Levi's and Tóth don't go together!
The charming Zoltán Tóth is very skilled, but he has his limits. We all do. This year, he followed up on 2017, when he collaborated with the iconic brand Levi’s. But it's a bit like the last season of Game of Thrones. At the beginning, it was great, but then it took a massive plunge into the deep. Same thing happened here. Why mix apples with pears when each fruit each fruit on its own is better, juicier, and most importantly still original?
I'm really sorry to have to say this, but I find this connection completely unfortunate. Although Zoltán claims that the coronavirus crisis helped him, forced him to slow down, and therefore to think more about his work, I'd say that this guy simply performs much better under pressure. When you're on a deadline, you give it 150 percent effort and the result is amazing, that's a universal truth.
Pregnant turnip
Not many people can pull off green; I think green should be reserved for trees and grass. And when it comes to this sickly green, I hope it will never go back in fashion. When I see it, I have to think of my grandmother waiting in a queue for bananas. What's even worse, the cut makes it seem like the model is pregnant, inspite of being literally emaciated. I don't even want to imagine myself after a proper dinner. I doubt my date would follow me home...

Levi's enter the stage
Pretty much everyone owned a pair of the legendary Levi’s "501s" back in the day. But I don't remember them looking like this. I've got to repeat myself here. Levi's have had their iconic look for many years, and it should stay that way. As for the top, the color is beautiful, but let's be honest now, it only looks great on tanned skin... please, who has tanned skin in the autumn? Soon, we'll go back into lockdown and tanning salons won't be an option anymore either.

The world is upside down
Folks, is it just my feeling, or did the model put the jacket on upside down? I don't mean inside out, but upside down. If I left the house looking like this, my mom would have slapped, and my grandmother would have had heart attack. Zoltán, please, go back to your roots...
