Gareth Pugh and clothes for science fiction heroes

The English fashion designer who began designing costumes for the theater at the age of fourteen still retains his unique but rather peculiar style. His genius is undeniable, but the outfits he creates are not something you would wear without batting an eyelid. His collections, however, are loved by celebrities around the world, including Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga or Beyoncé. The SS19 collection reminds us of a luxurious Halloween costume or a superhero action movie!

A bit of punk and baroque as designed by MM6 Maison Margiela

The French fashion house founded in Paris in 1988 by designer Martin Margiela shocked with its SS19 collection. The brand often combines both female and male fashion, creating unisex fashion. The collection MM6 SS19 is full of baroque elements associated with luxury punk style. The glossy silk gloves, coats, frills, and shapeless dresses did not look very flattering on the models. One outfit even reminded us of a luxury outfit from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. There was truly a lot to see.

A collection without a charge or life from the luxurious Burberry brand

Where have the zest and simple imaginativeness of the brand disappeared? It's hard to say, but it was definitely replaced by dull fashion without a spark. Modern women want to wear this? Yes, beauty is simple, but nothing should be exaggerated. Fortunately, and thank god, there were only a few such outfits in the Burberry SS19 collection.

Kiko Kostadinov: Circus fashion and the appearance of aliens

Maybe you're wondering who Kiko Kostadinov is. We have to say that he is a very gifted Bulgarian fashion designer who is very young and is trying to create interesting fashion. Although we are rooting for him, he sadly failed to impress us with his collection SS19. The sewn together colored cloths look like circus costumes, and the models look as if they come from Mars. Luxury fashion here is missing a bit here, but definitely not courage and uniqueness!

The London Fashion Week is definitely over, so it's time to reflect on it a little. This time, however, we will not admire the wonderful work of luxury fashion houses...I'm going to focus on collections you certainly do not want to wear!

The first horrors come from Gareth Pugh. The famous English designer was once again off the chain and designed completely spooky striped overalls, dresses and body suits. The worst of all were the monstrous combat boots and the disgustingly tight Balaclava helmet over the face. They look like costumes from the film "Silence of the Lambs" (1991), and that's not okay.

I saw with my own eyes that different time periods and styles should not be mixed together at Maison Margiela's SS19 collection. Loose baroque? Without corsets? That is intense. The most horrible outfit of all is the long violet dress with draped shoulders, purple thongs with socks and finally the giant black sweatshirt underneath. "The always wore the jacket inside out, she thought it was a sign of punk. She applied lipstick straight to her teeth, she thought it was a sign of punk…" This song by Czech band Visací Zámek – "A Sign of Punk" (2005) says it all in this case!

Next up we surprisingly have the Burberry brand! Its classical cream collection on home soil was acceptable, but that was probably it. All the spark seemed to have flown out of the window five minutes before the show. It's a huge shame. And the worst piece? For me it was the light brown lady suit with the loose fabric on an otherwise elegantly cut skirt in the area of the underbelly. Do any of us want to look like a weird, strange woman with a kangaroo pocket? Why even bother asking...

And last but not least we have the colorful collection by Kiko Kostadinov. A windbreaker composed of several wadded pieces of fabric, a knitted dress revealing the nipples over a fabric, the color of which was reminiscent of the traffic signs or the ram headband? A circus, folly and chaos. There is nothing more to say about it!
