To launch of the new collection of the Italian luxury brand the Carthusian monastery of Florence Charterhouse was chosen, situated as it is in the French suburb of Gailuzzo in Italy. The premises of the historical building were filled by dynamic music, the ground was covered by chessboard of three shades and the luxury show was able to begin…
Compared to the previous collection, creative director Paul Suridge refrained from dip-dye and excess leather. However, he maintained his typical passion for animal motifs, which he enriched by elements of minimalism and clean lines, breathing energy into the luxury SS 2019 collection, as well as lending it a dose of immediacy.
Functional, stylish and comfortable, exactly such are the luxury models from the SS 2019 collection. This is by the way also illustrated by the jogging footwear which is a part of most outfits. In the collection you will be able to find elegant snowy white or black suits, tweed and denim pieces, but also leather trousers and models of striking patterns and vibrant colours.
The most extravagant pieces of the whole collection are tops from transparent materials that really do reveal a lot. Will you find the courage necessary for a similar piece, or will you leave it to someone else with a greater dose of exhibitionism?
What other trends of the upcoming season does the luxury collection bring? Shorten it! Shorts will become a must have piece and you will be able to combine them, with a clear conscience, with a jacket, coat or a sweater. If you select some oversize piece to go with it, even better! In the spring you will also be very in, if you put on one of the leopard or zebra models which are Roberto Cavalli´s stellar.
The latest Men´s Collection by Roberto Cavalli is as if it were balancing between cutting-edge style that we usually see in case of Balmain and some kind of vulgar chasm in the form of animal patterns, transparent meshes and the like, typically to be seen with Moschino. Truth to tell, I do not know any woman who would like some transparent vest under a well-cut jacket. Simply a ´no´! But I do understand that for the gay community it will probably be sexy...
With regard to those outfits with shorts, I absolutely have no problem! In fact, I quite like that. For example the long white coat, white shirt, white jacket and finally those minimalist shorts: men who have sexy calves could easily take it to heart and immediately wear something similar! And in combination with a longer coat it all gets different kind of zest. So for me one big yes, even if it wants a bigger amount of courage to start with. Well, it is not very conventional.
I would like to mention those denim creations, too. Gentlemen, if you want to look stylish in your leisurewear, where the main role is played by jeans, avoid the pieces from this collection in a wide arc, and select a better-fitting pair of trousers for example by Ralph Lauren. Here it seems to me more like an Army of Salvation parade!
